Programs for the initial UK and US runs of the Simon Gray play at the Criterion in London 1971 and the Morosco in NYC in 1972.

Movie tie-in / photoplay edition with star Susan Hayward pictured on the jacket and endpapers illustrated with film stills.

New York: Grosset and Dunlap, 1929. Hardcover. 410p., illustrated with b&w production stills (Fox Movietone) on glazed inserted stock, the Grosset edition of the original Payson & Clarke publication neglected to change copyright information (therefore G&D may be advertised as the "first", which it is not). Hardbound in textured red cloth lettered black, cloth is smudged with a partial light cup-ring, top edge dust-soiled, a sound copy clean and unmarked within. FYI, the selling point of Mr Ripley's novel is hardly the storyline (hangovers, racism) but the four plates. One is simulated shot of horseback revolutionaries, and the other three of Victor McLaglen being a towering ladies' man (whatta grin!) and a singleton of a young Humphrey Bogart being obsequious.

Tallahassee: Naiad Press, 1995. Paperback. 171p., illustrated with b&w stills from the film version, very good first edition trade paperback in pictorial wraps. Novelization of the author's first film written and directed by her. Lesbian comic stars in a show about a gay character.

Jacket title is "The Brasher Doubloon," spine and title page state "The High Window." The film starred George Montgomery and Nancy Guild. A Tower Mystery.

A Playbill and a souvenir program, 48p., 6.5x9 inches and [16p] 9x11.75 inches, cast bios, photographs, production stills, local ads, articles, some creasing and wear else very good in stapled pictorial wraps. Directed by Margo Jones, Sam Wanamaker & Alan Anderson (due to Jones illness). Bergman won one of the first Tony Awards for this and went on the star in a film adaptation.

New York: The Franklin Book Co, 1915. Hardcover. 375p. + backlist, soiling to pages, shelfwear else good first edition in gray-green cloth boards and color plate on cover. The author was fairly prolific at the turn of the century turning out romance novels and thrillers. Two of his novels were filmed, "The Road to London" and "The Oval Diamond" (included here). Only three physical copies located in OCLC as of 6/2021.

Filmed as "Don't Make Waves" starring Tony Curtis and Sharon Tate in 1967 to cash in on the Beach party craze.

Randy Alfred is a freelance journalist who co-founded the San Francisco Bay Times, edited The Sentinel and hosted the KSAN public affairs radio show The Gay Life.

Autobiographical novel about the female experience published in 1962 and filmed in 1964 with a brilliant performance by Anne Bancroft (when was she NOT brilliant?) Her second husband was the writer and barrister John Mortimer who wrote the Rumpole of the Bailey series.
