Victoria: the gallery, 1980. Paperback. 56p., profuse b&w exhibit and site/artist photography, softbound in 9x8.5 inch glazed alkaline paperstock in colorphoto wraps. A fine copy: sound, clean, unmarked. Non-sacred artifacts, such as wall-hangings, betel-nut mortars, comb, jewelry, boat figurehead, and suchlike.

Melbourne: F. W. Cheshire Pty. Ltd, 1932. 94p., frontis portrait from photography (Osea shown at his desk), first issue of the Englished version, softbound in 7x5 inch plain printed wraps. Item was bumped at top corner-tip (affects every leaf), covers somewhat dust-soiled and edgeworn, text lightly foxed. Verso of portrait serves as endsheet blank, and this surface bears translator's inscription signed, and a vendor's rubberstamp ("Yankee Al's, Darwin NT"). Translator also autographs the portrait.

During the 1990s, two plebiscites were conducted to legalize the Cordillera autonomous region. The Cordillera People's Liberation Army (CPLA) signed an agreement in 2011 to end their armed struggle to achieve autonomy, but non-militarized efforts persist.

Washington DC: GPO, 1915. Hardcover. x, 519p., illustrated with a fold-out "Index to Charts referred to in this book," a sort of map of maps (hydrographic maps available from government sources, none reproduced here) - and provided with perforated coupons that entitle bearer to free paperwork (all coupons present and untouched), a massive hardbound item that is ex library. Front hinge is cracked; rear hinge appears to have had the adjacent free blank clumsily adhered to rear pastedown, whether to strengthen the hinge (it is sound enough) or to disguise library impedimentia. A somewhat ugly copy, but handleable and complete, shall we say "fair to good" (good-only). Hydrographic Office, no. 126.

Honolulu: University of Hawaii, 1954. 101p., unpaginated appendices, text reproduced from typed ms, no illustrations, utilitarian binding in flexible brown covers with black cloth backstrip and typed cover label. Backstrip is slightly abraded but item is sound and legible throughout. The word "problem" occurs here, usually in connection with the conjunction of economically stressed Samoan immigrants with American military culture.

Independence MO / Lamoni IA: Herald Publishing House [reprint by same house], 1970. Paperback. 383p., no illustrations whatsoever, else a reprint of the original 1915 version. Mild wear & tear to paper covers, clean and unmarked within, softbound in 7.5x5 inch wraps, a good (good-only) copy. This represents the account of the mission of the author as a Mormon missionary to the South Sea Islands from 1896-1900.

Paperback. 181, profuse fullpage and vignette exhibit photos in color on high-gloss paperstock, the usual top-of-the-line format: 10.5x8.5 inch coated grey wraps. The two outer corner-tips are bumped, the lower one also creased, no ownership or other markings, a good copy.

Featuring articles on Japanese American churches, Christianity in the Pacific Islands, the negative effects of tourism on native Hawaiians, and more.

Garden City: Garden City Publishing Co., Inc, 1946. Hardcover. Reprint of the Houghton edition, first Garden City issue; 249p., thickly illustrated with four large photosections well-reproduced (and listed with captions), hardbound in brown cloth boards lettered in dark green, top edge tinted green, and enclosed in the dust jacket. These stills are great, Osa and husband were people persons. Movie-films also were taken, which were shown to paying audiences in Australia to keep up the Johnsons' finances. The book itself bears a dealer's penciled note, and, laid-in, a very acidic slip with handwritten Johnson titles - this slip has badly toned adjacent leaves but we've left it in. The dust jacket is quite edgeworn and has an eyesore of a sticker scar that affects cover titling. Otherwise sound, clean and unmarked.
