Once part of the Cherokee Indian Nation, Acworth resides in Cobb county, at the foot of the North Georgia Mountains. This history contains information about the town's history; the Cherokee and early history, land lotteries, farming, local churchs and government, the Civil War, Sherman's March, industry, etc. A great copy.

What makes this a truly outstanding copy is McCall's warm inscription on the dedication page to his friends and first Sea Island(Georgia)clients P.L. and Virginia Hay, Jr. Their beautiful home is showcased on pages 97 through 100. This must have been a presentation copy, as it's signed and dated at Christmas time 1985, the year of publication. This copy is clean and tight, with no wear. The jacket is housed in a plastic sleeve, it has wonderful strong color and no nicks or tears. A excellent display of McCall's remarkable homes.

Regardless of the title this book contains full page black and white photographs of architecture found in and around Augusta in 1894. There's quite a bit of local history and descriptions of public buildings and landmarks. Quite a large heavy book, in excellent condition: white clean pages with no foxing or markings. Jacket is clean and covered with mylar, but has a small rubbed place on cover, which is not noticible. A handsome copy.
