No Dust Jacket, spot on cover, worn corners & edges of spine, some soiling to cover, some foxing (or spots) on fly leaf. Slight remants of a removed bookplate from inside back cover.

Hard cover is chipped around the edges of the boards with some of the paper missing, also has creases and soil. Hinge is cracked. Pencil personalization erased from title page. Illustrations are watercolored in with some transfer occuring to other areas. Blue pencil partial border on half title page. Has some soil spots and closed tears. Noses and glasses are drawn on faces in pencil with Harold written above a little boy. Some blue pencil scribbles. Bottom couple of stitches came unattached from the binding. No dust jacket. Please see photos. Story is about mother animals and their babies. I see I accidentally erased the cover photo.

Dust jacket has wear along the edges with small tears. There is a piece of tape on the spine along with reinforcement tape inside of dust jacket. Bottem edge of HC is bent. Dust jacket has some scratches and some creasing. Reinforcement binding was added inside front end page and next page. Dust jacket and pages of book have some discoloration from age. Several page tips creased. 4 over 58 written in pencil other side of flyleaf. Rest of book in VG condition. Ships where available with confirmation.

A rare New Edition published by Henry Frowde, Hodder and Stoughton, London in FAIR condition. Copyright by Richard Clay & Sons. Book is complete, however; page 15/16 is detached and laid in. There is a 16 pp. Catalogue at the end of the book. Boys and Girls Books by this publisher. Binding has numerous deficiencies including tears along the spine with tears at the bottom front and the top back. The edges and corners are worn with dents along the back edges. There is some chipping on the oblong spine paste down as well as scratches and a piece missing on the front. The only writing inside is a gift inscription from Momma on the ffep. There are stains inside and bent pages at the top. There are four color illustrations by W. B. Handforth. Two have water stains along the top and bottom edges. There are also numerous black and white illustrations which look to me like etchings by another artist. The front hinge is cracked at the title page, photographed. Book has a slight old paper smell but not mildewy.

Cover VG - the antique dealer removed the price sticker along with the top layer of the cover by bottom corner. (Still bought because of color) Some edgewear, rubbed corners, small dent along bottom edge, discoloration of spine.

Contains a book plate inside the cover which states,"With the compliments of Little, Brown, & Company Litst Price 40 cents net Price in Quantities 32 cents (signed) Marjorie Johnson".
The preface contains the sales pitch as to why this book is better than a regular primer or first reader for the very youngest children.
There is NO dust jacket. Some color loss to illustrated hardcover, worn corners & edges of spine. There are two ink ownership stamps inside cover, name only. Inside is severs soil spots, a creased corner, at least five closed tears, a notch-type piece out of a page corner, and half of page 41/42 is missing.

Book is becoming scarce with the dust jacket which is very worn with tears at spine edges and corners and has a scrape on the backside. Hardcover book looks nice but has bent edges on the spine ends. Top pages dyed red. Previous owners stamp inside cover mostly covered by the flap which has 2095 at the top. There is a crinkle in the paper mostly at the bottom. No signs of water damage or foxing, smells fine. Owner's stamp also on the title page. Revised edition. Last printing date 1935. Dust jacket states over 1200 pages but there are 1178. Book is complete, hinges are fine. Some soiling along the bottom inside of book from dust. Several page tips creased. May require additional postage for international shipping only. A very nice vintage Anthology of Mark Twain's work all in one volume.

The top and bottom edges and corners have wear and some fraying with a tiny piece missing by bottom spine. Some soiling on jacket and first song photographed. Illustrations are in black & white and some in color. The dust jacket is somewhat wavy. No smells or signs of water damage. Publisher location at The Rockefeller Center, NY. The last song is The Star-Spangled Banner with the American Flag illustrated in color. A children's book from World War II.

Inside VG - one pop up is creased. Worn corners to Hardcover, has edgewear. Most of the top layer of the spine peeled off and there are multiple pieces of tape horizontally along the edge of the spine which is showing about 1/2" to an inch at places on the cover. Su-11 35 cents on cover.
