Borders Autographed Copy dated 11/15/95. First Pocket Books trade paperpack printing November 1995 (10-1). Inscribed, "Be Brave, be well M. Blakely 11/15/95". Book is Like new except three page corners got bents and two of them have a small rip. Wrapper VG-/Good+ crease along spine, rubbed corners, movement marks.

The personal inscription on the ffep states, "Bob from The Tarrytowner's February, 1950." (By the early 1900's there were more than 65 mansions in Tarrytown, NY earning it the title Millionaire's Colony. Tarrytown historian William C. Gross said it was considered the wealthiest town of its size anywhere in the world.) I believe this is what the inscription refers to. This book has been accused by detractors as Communist propaganda and a seditious call to overthrow organized states. Between 1965 - 1987 Animal Farm was at least challenged in WI, NY, GA and banned in FL unti parents sued and 65 books were reinstated. It was suppressed in Russia from the Moscow International Book Fair in 1977. The above were for political reasons. In 2002 it was banned in schools in the United Arab Emirates for religious reasons. Signed by Former Owner and his wife on FFEP. Name in cursive on bottom front cover and printed on spine. A special book. Backside has some scuffs along the edge and stains at bottom. Some wear to corners and bottom edges. Bumped along back spine and end caps. Second foldout is creased at bottom and hangs out the bottom of the book about a quarter inch. The back of the book has discoloration most likely from papers stuffed in. All were removed except for the one shown which is included.

This is a small book of poetry by Madame de Basily in English. Her story can be read on the Hoover Institution website. She is American born and the donor of the items in the Nicolas de Basily room. This book was published in Paris the year after her marriage in November, 1919. Her husband was the Diplomat of Imperial Russia 1903 - 1917. The poetry in this 31 page book is dated 1915 - 1917. It appears to be one of a kind. There are marbled end papers plus three from, front and back. The cover has wear as shown. There is foxing from page 21 onward. The poems are titled: In Tifles, The Cry of Holy Russia, Anarchist Lullaby, Human Wreckage, Afternoon Service in the Alexander Newsky Monastery, The Kremlin, White Night on the Gulf of Finland,Republic of Cronstadt, ProphesyTo Life. There is also a dedication to her mother. Mr. and Mrs. de Basily are buried in Baltimore. Land, Estates, and Wealth were never recovered in Russia.

The dust jacket is well worn with tears and small pieces missing; however, it has kept the black boards with gold lettering clean and bright. Price on flap is $3.95, No. 9467A. 0260. Back of dust jacket with the Kennedy family photo has No. 5861. Remnants of some glue on back end paper and opposite side. 1960 F - M (probably sixth printing of the 1960 hardcover edition) with untrimmed leaves. First Edition not stated. Stain on top edge pages of book. No personalisation inside.

This is the English edition. It was also published in Russian, probably by another publisher. Some light wear to wrapper with a couple of white spots towards the bottom of the spine. The exception is the back cover which is heavily creased due to having an 8 fold map bound in, which is tanned. States with 170 maps, photographs, drawings. This book is complete and quite shocking.

Inside in Fine Condition except about 25 page corners got creased. No Dust Jacket. Cover has very little wear but has stains, the exterior pages are soiled as well. Gold Leaf is bright, one rubbed corner.

I have kept this book in Fine Condition by putting it in a plastic bag. The original price sticker is on the back. Assumed First Edition ( I did not open it). The sticker on the front shows that 10℅ of the proceeds were being donated to the victims of 9/11. This isbn# shows this book was published in 2001.

Name, address & faculty no. listed on front end page. Inside cover stuck to front end page at binding and made about a one inch tear near bottom. Dust jacket torn at edges of spine & corners. Appears to be a First Edition - no other printing listed.
