Condition: VERY GOOD: light edgewear to covers, rubbing to spine, internally clean and tight excepting a slight toning to pages, and a 1" closed tear to last page. Nothing has been colored in. Delightful illustrations of clowns, circus animals, carriages, and all manner of circus antics.

The story of Barnum & Bailey's famous elephant, the biggest elephant the world has ever seen; written and illustrated by the author.

Condition: GOOD: light edgewear all around, spotting to front cover and some staining to rear cover, internally clean. A tale of the Circus that could not start because of the Lion being too lazy to get up. Terrific bright and fun illustrations of bears, and elephants, and clowns, and seals, and the circus band, and the chef who saves the day.

Condition: VERY GOOD with slight edgewear, 1" closed tear to first page top edge, some spotting to rear cover, otherwise clean and tight and filled with Kay's delightful circus characters and scenes.

No publications date noted, but WorldCat says two editions were published in 1890 in France. 4to, stiff illustrated wraps, French text, [12] pages, linen cloth, illustrations by color lithography, front endpapers the alphabet A-Z in capital letters, rear endpaper has letters in lower case, each page provides a poem [in French] and color illustrations of various circus acts: acrobats, flying trapezes, bicycles, chariot races, dogs acts, elephants, horses, seals, kangaroos, pigs, ostriches, lions and tigers and bears (oh my!), ending with a yack and a zebra, and all including the various circus performers. Condition: VERY GOOD with some edgewear, crease to front cover, the spine is rubbed with the paper overlay on the canvas rubbed off in a few places, internally clean. A delightful and very rare piece of Circus and ABC lore.

A must-have for Circus collectors.
