Published by Bradford Morrow on the 20th anniversary of the original appearance of The Naked Lunch, consists of 324 numbered copies in wrappers... cast in Monotype Baskerville and designed and printed letterpress by Patrick Reagh in August 1979; this copy is out of series and numbered 399. Title on cover states: A variant passage from The Naked Lunch, with a new introduction by the author. 8vo, french folded wraps, 42 pages, frontispiece drawing by K. Anders after Egon Schiele's "Kummernis." Condition is VERY GOOD+ : very slight edgewear and very slight tanning to spine. A very nice copy.

London: George G. Harrap. Soft cover. VG-. Frederick Hollyer.. No publication date but circa early 1900s, 48mo, full red suede limp covers with gilt titles on cover and spine, decorative paper endpapers, decorative page headings, top edge gilt, 64 pages, frontispiece is a photograph by Frederick Hollyer titled "Hope". Condition: VERY GOOD- : light edgewear to suede covers, a small chip out of bottom corner, faint soiling, front endpapers are separating at the hinge but book is tight, pages are clean. One of the Sesame Booklets, this is number 37 [stated at end of text]; there is a page of the front matter listing numbers 49 - 50. Frederick Hollyer (1838-1933) was a noted celebrity photographer of the Victorian and Edwardian eras; he also made photographic reproductions of paintings. The frontispiece in this miniature book is a photograph of George Frederic Watts' most famous and influential painting "Hope.

VERY GOOD+ / no jacket: light rubbing to corners, spine lightly sunned, otherwise appears unread. These stories, selected by Randall Jarrell with an introduction, include 14 of the short works that Kipling, most noted for his works set in India, wrote about the English in England. Included is his famous story "The Janeites" about a group of war-weary men who come to admire the works of Jane Austen... indeed it is this story that gave the real Janeites their name (though it was George Sainstbury who first coined the term, though he spelled it "Janites").

Condition: NEAR FINE book / NEAR FINE jacket: book is like new (there were two penciled names that have been erased leaving no markings); jacket is like new excepting it is clipped on the lower front flap (but not the price), very light toning to edges. A lovely copy.

Condition is VERY GOOD / no jacket: . light edgewear to boards, spines are very slightly darkened, internally clean and tight with a faint yellowing to the pages. A very nice set of this classic romance.

Condition is VERY GOOD: light edgewear around paper covers and spine, internally clean and tight with all six gravures present and in excellent condition. The full-page gravures include Frances Hodgson Burnett, Gertrude Atherton, Margaret Deland, Edith Wharton, Kate Douglas Wiggin, and Mary Roberts Rhinehart; the essay discusses many other American women writers, an incredible amount of information in these 12 pages!

Condition: VERY GOOD- : cover wear (staining, fading, slight rippling to rear board cloth), faint foxing to endpapers, three owner names to front endpaper, internally clean and tight. Hemans (1793-1835), born Felicia Dorothea Browne in Liverpool, was very popular in her day, her poems read and respected alongside her contemporaries Shelley, Wordsworth, Byron, Coleridge, etc. She had five children in six years, was abandoned by her husband, spent the rest of her life writing in order to survive and was dead by the age of forty-one.
