Philadelphia: Daniels & Smith, 1846. Hardcover. Near Fine. 32mo - over 4 - 5" tall. Altered from the original work of Rev. John Hill, by G. T. Bedell, Rector of St. Andrew's Church, Phil'a. Reprint ed, originally published in 1832-3. 32mo (4 ½"), brown blind-stamped publisher's cloth with gilt decoration on cover and spine, all pages gilt, yellow eps, 109 pages. Condition is NEAR FINE: slight bumping to spine head and tail and corners, otherwise this little book is like new - somebody took very good care! It is Well; or, Faith's Estimate of Afflictions seems to be a companion piece to Bedell's work "Is It Well? or, Three serious and interesting Questions to Wives and Mothers" also first published in 1832-3.

No date or edition statement. 24mo, folded envelope containing 22 plates (color images of the Heures à L'Usage de Troyes); two additional images are inserted from the XVIthe century. Condition is VERY GOOD+: the envelope has light edgewear at the folds, name and date on rear cover, the plates are like new. Absolutely lovely.

Boston, MA: A. D. Maclachlan. Soft cover. Very Good. 32mo - over 4 - 5" tall. Printed by Kaufmann Lehr Baden, part of the Victoria Series of R. J. Masters in London. No date noted, but there is an inscription dated 1927 on verso of title page. 32mo (4 ½" x 3 5/8"), illustrated stapled wraps, 16 pages, b/w illustrations throughout. Condition: VERY GOOD+ with little wear. A vintage religions tract with biblical quotations and unattributed drawings.

Ginn and Company, 1909. Soft cover. Good. The New-England Primer Enlarged, O[r], an early and pleasant Guide to the Art of Reading, Adorn'd with Cuts, To which are added, The Assembly of Divines, and Mr. Cotton's Catechism, etc. Boston: Printed by E. Draper, for B. Larkin in Cornhill. A facsimile reprint by Ginn & Company who knows when [circa 1909, from the original publication of 1785-1790]. 32mo (4 ½ in), softbound, unpaginated, image of General Washington on the front cover, b/w illustrations. Includes poems, hymns, prayers, catechisms, and "A dialogue between Christ, Youth and the Devil." Condition is GOOD- with the covers taped at spine, faint soiling to front cover, a few pages are detaching, otherwise quite a terrific piece of early New England education. Ginn & Co. has a few advertisements in the rear.

Philadelphia, PA: American Sunday-School Union, 1850. Hardcover. G+. 24mo, marbled paper-covered boards backed in black leather / gilt titles on spine, 34 pages, b/w illustrations. Condition is GOOD+ : edgewear to boards, scattered foxing throughout, the signature of pages 5-8 is detaching, but all is present tand the book is otherwise tight, penciled math notation on front endpaper. A moral treatise on the value of a neatly-kept home: "The misery and discomfort which families and individuals have to endure that live in the midst of dirt and untidiness, and the comfort and enjoyment found among those of opposite habits, are well shown in the following account given by one the parties who paid the visits there mentioned."....

Engraved frontispiece and title page from the first edition (Philadelphia: Key and Biddle / Edward C. Biddle, 1833). Frontispiece engraving "Meditation" by William Boxall / engraved by George B. Ellis ; title page engraving "Sunday Evening" by W. Hamilton / also engraved by George B. Ellis. Title page for this 1836 edition follows, published by Desilver, Thomas & Co. 24mo, ribbed leather, title in gilt on front board, ribbon bookmark present but detached, 320 pages. Condition is VERY GOOD: binding is tight, light rubbing to extremities, toning and light foxing to endpapers, foxing to engravings around edges, light scattered faint foxing throughout. A nice copy.
