Presentation copy; inscribed by the author, “With [a] thousand pleasant memories ‘Of the days of auld lang syne’: To Henry & Louise Elwell from their faithful friend Parker Pillsbury 1884.” These are the prominent abolitionist’s memories of the movement, which at that point was over, at least formally.
