We note the spine lists only the author and the cover lists only the illustrator. Author James Morier (1780-1849) used his experience as a British diplomat in Persia in writing this story. Hajji Baba was first published in 1824. Morier also wrote two books about his travels through Persia and the surrounding countries. Illustrator Harold Robert Millar (1869-1942), was best known for his illustrations of fairy tales and fantasy work. He was a collector of Eastern art, which inspired his drawings for this book. Separation inside front and back hinges. Color map of The Albert N'yanza has been mended with tape in one spot and has an inch tear along fold in another spot. This printing is not that limited edition. 4to size hardcover; contains 11 prints, unnumbered pages, about 30. Printed on ivory colored laid paper with black and white etchings tipped in. The reverso is blank and the prints are suitable for framing if desired. Various sizes etchings are laid in averaging about 8.5 inches. Each etching is clearly marked in small type with the word REPRO. Beneath the etching in what appears to be tiny penciled handwriting, is the title of the etching and who owned it (at the time) the book was printed. With an Appreciation by James C. McGuire, underneath that is a brief biography of the artist.
