San Francisco: Limited Editions Club, 1931. Hardcover. Some mottling and chipping of the vellum on the spine with a brief tear at the head. Very Good, lacking the slipcase. Folio (9" x 13-1/4") bound in medieval half vellum with French marbled paper sides. Introduction and marginal glosses by Edward O'Day. Illustrated with an etched portrait of Franklin and line borders by William Wilke. Copy #1302 of 1500 designed, printed, and bound by John Henry Nash and SIGNED by him on the colophon page. A beautifully printed book.

Occasional minor stain or foxing, but quite clean in a Very Good contemporary binding, a little rubbed on the spine with a very short split at the top joint, covers tight. Overall a Near Fine survival. Contemporary sheep; 53, [4], 66-183, [1] pages [as issued]. BAL 5048; Church Catalog 1262: "In this pastoral poem is introduced a vivid description of the burning of Fairfield by the British, in 1779"; Evans 26925. The poem is dedicated to Vice-President John Adams.
