Published January 2, 1833 by Dutton and Wentworth in Boston. The Boston and Providence Railroad was one of the first rail lines in the United States - this report precedes its opening in 1834. There are 32 numbered pages.Condition:Both covers and all pages are firmly attached. Foxing to the covers. The back cover has a small, light stain at the bottom-left corner. "Boston Providence Rail Road Co. Report 1833" written in old handwriting on the front cover. This is a profusely illustrated, antique copy of "1883 - The Illustrated Catalogue of the PARIS SALON" edited by F.G. Dumas. 1883; Chatto and Windus; London. "Containing about 400 Facsimile Reproductions of the Original Drawings by the Artists." Three-quarter leather binding with gilt lettering on the spine and red-stained page edges on all sides. There are pages written in both English and French.Condition:The top and bottom edges of the spine are worn; there is a 2" split at the top-right corner of the spine (despite the split, the front cover is still firmly in place and is not shaky). Wear to the leather at the cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. There is dark foxing at the lower-outer page corners from the title page up to contents page XX. Occasional light stain and foxing spot on the remainder of the pages. The end papers are heavily tanned. Overall the book is in Good condition.

This is a nice condition collection of seven antique doctor's account books / physician's ledgers belonging to Dr. J.L.M. Willis, M.D. who practiced on "The Old Post Road" in Eliot, Maine ("Eliot's first county doctor"). The account books range in date from 1885 to 1916. Hardbound with cloth covers, leather spines, leather corners or outer cover edges, and gilt lettering and accents. Four ledgers have raised bands on the spine. Each account book contains an alphabetical list of patients at the front, followed by details of patient visits by date (see below for interesting examples of visits). The handwriting throughout the account books is highly legible. The earliest ledger (1882 to 1895) contains an entry for a visit by the poet JOHN GREENLEAF WHITTIER (with "The Poet ~" written next to his name); Whittier paid $2.50, though his reason for the visit was not recorded. The grandiose "Luchow-Faust" was housed within the Tyrolean Alps section of the Pike at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. The front cover is beautifully illustrated in color. The back cover contains a drink list consisting of wines, beers, champagne, and mineral waters. Three-quarter leather binding with marbled end papers and raised bands on the spine. "In a Series of Letters, Addressed to a Youth, a Bachelor, a Lover, a Husband, a Father, a Citizen or a Subject."Condition:Some rubbing of the marbled paper over the boards; worn corners; the top of the spine is chipped; the label on the spine is chipped along the left and right edges; small, light stain at the bottom of the front cover. The front end paper has nearly separated from the spine and is attached by only a string. Scattered mild foxing and browning to the pages. There is an old bookplate affixed to the front pastedown. No writing found. There is a crack at the front hinge resulting in the front cover being shaky.

This is an antique "ALBUM OF IRELAND" containing 53 illustrated views. Circa 1890's - there is no date of publication stated, but the first view has an inscription in pen dated 1890. Published by W. Lawrence in Dublin, Ireland. "Accordion" style - the views are attached end-to-end and fold neatly within the covers. Views include Sackville Street, O'Connell Monument, Trinity College, The Chapel Royal, The Phoenix Park, Four Courts, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Christ Church, Patrick Street, Blarney Castle, Queenstown, Castles, Fish Market, Royal Avenue, Queens College, Londonderry...and many more.

Condition:
There are a couple of light smudges at the right edge of the front cover; clean back cover. The views are in nice condition - clean with only a few random, light smudges and an inscription written in pen dated 1890 on the 1st panel.
