A rare opportunity to acquire an original pen and ink illustration by Geoffrey Whittam (who illustrated most of the books published by Monica Edwards), for the double-page 94-95, image measuring 17" x 9.3" (42.5 x 23.5cms) on two pieces of (joined) art paper. The picture itself is not signed, but on the verso is a stamped label for R P Gossop Ltd - Artists' Agents with GEOFFREY WHITTAM written above in biro. A generously-sized original demonstrating the artist's superb skill.

The original finished artwork for the four-frame panel featuring the characters Karel the Crow and Sarel the Sea-Monster, from issue 17 (29th May 1978) of the South African "Bollie in TV Wonderland" comic, by the great comic artist Peter Woolcock. This is probably the second of two pages for this story (I don't have the first), but the joke stands brilliantly as it is. Total image for each PAIR of frames is 11.3" x 5.8", pen and ink on art paper, SIGNED by the artist on the final frame.

Gouache on light card mounted on artboard, image 7" x 3.5" (18x9cms), not signed, no date given, I have assumed c1970 but this could be quite wrong, the title is written in pencil at the bottom of the board. Mary Brooks illustrated two of the main series Noddy books for Enid Blyton, this picture is believed to be by Mary Brooks as it came in her personal folder.

Pen and ink on light card, with an opaque sheet overlaid with red tints (see images), not signed, but almost certainly by the prolific Frank Jennens (see my other two signed peices), image 8" x 12" (20x30cms), no date given, I have assumed c1940 but this could be 10 years either way.

An original watercolour by Rene Cloke on artboard, image 6.7" x 4.3" of children on a beach hurrying towards a distant punch and judy show, unknown date, I would appreciate any help from anyone who can identify the publication where it first appeared, not signed, mounted and framed, a great opportunity to own a signed original by this popular artist.

First Edition Artwork. a portfolio of artwork by Janina Ede comprising 22 pen and ink finished-quality "roughs" (2 with Brockhampton stamps on the verso with the artist's name), plus 8 pencil roughs, and one colour rough for the first edition of this, the first of the Winklsea series, along with the FINISHED artwork for the wraparound cover of the 1971 Puffin paperback, image 15.6" x 11.8" in gouache on artboard (no lettering, a lovely picture for framing), along with a set of galley proofs, three photographs of the ORIGINAL "gift from Winklesea" - very similar to the one used on the first edition d/w, along with a copy of the paperback, none signed, a marvellous opportunity to see an artist at work.

First Edition Artwork. artwork labelled by the artist Janina Ede as "Exercise: illustrations African Queen" (C S Forester), pen and watercolour, comprising six full colour images on heavy paper mounted within two large sheets for display. The largest image is 7"x6.5" (17.8x16.5cms), the smallest 2.5"x3.5" (6.5x8cms). Janina Ede was born in 1937 and did much of her illustration work for Puffin.
