Very dark cloth, black or navy, hardcover first edition with gilt lettering on spine and front cover, vii pages 305 pages, xxv pages, illustrated, on page 2 there are two lines underllined in ink, the book is clean and tight and square, spine ends very lightly rubbed, corners show very minor rubbing and appear almost sharp, hinges are fine inside and outside, no repairs, all original, very nice first edition in gift quality condition.. The four volumes complete in two books, hardcover tan cloth with green spine lettering and with pictorial architectural designs on covers, xxxii pages, 169 pages, xii pages, 176 pages, xxx pages, 224 pages, xiv pages 233 pages, with illustrations, although I purchased this set from a college library the books are in extremely good condition, the only external marks are an ink stamp on top edge of pages on each book, the internal evidence in each book is a bookplate inside front cover and card pocket inside rear cover, the top edges could be sandpapered and the plates and pockets could be carefully removed leaving very little evidence, quite a nice sturdy set showing minimal evidence of handling, the only reason I listed the set as "near" very good is because of the library evidence.. Hardcover, faded green cloth spine with fairly bright gilt lettering, gray-brown boards with black lettering, xiii pages, 396 pages, with all illustrations present and counted, fore and bottom edges deckle, top edge gray, edges of boards show wear especially at corners where the underlying board is visible, light soil, cloth spine is in pretty good condition but faded, light foxing mainly to endpapers, tight, a decent copy, three publishers are lilsted on title page, but the top one is printed in blue ink and that is the one that I listed as the publisher, the other two are New York John Lane Company, and Toronto Bell & Cockburn..
