Description:
Austin, TX: Diamond Books, 1990. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Billed on the front of the jacket as "the true story of the Ervil LeBaron family and its rampage of terror and murder." LeBaron was the leader of a polygamous Mormon fringe group that liked to assassinate its rivals and critics. Chynoweth was LeBaron's 13th wife; she murdered the leader of another LDS sect leader. She was acquitted at trial but admits to doing it in this book. 370 pages. First edition (first printing, with no indication of later printings. This copy with a corrected copyright statement pasted onto the back (verso) of the title page). A fine copy in a fine dust jacket. This copy is inscribed by Rena and her second husband to the Texas defense attorney Tom Garner. Garner did not represent Chynoweth at trial but apparently provided counsel at a later date. The inscriptions read, "To Tom: Thank you on behalf of "those kids." Thanks for your help in making John's and my dream come true. God bless, Rena. Mat. 19: 14"…
