Otherwise internally clean and neat. This is the Welsh poet's first published book of poetry, exploring themes characteristic of his 'womb-tomb' period - love, birth and death. A notebook used to hand-write in various extracts from poetry and prose, including much French verse, as well as flowers pressings and a couple of pencil drawings; some pages are ruled without writing, and the latter half of the book is blank and unused. Gifted to Mary Pemberton by her sister Emily. A beautifully bound treasure trove of someone's favourite poetry in charming handwriting, and still very useable as a notebook. Binding 26.5 cms tall. .
