There was a stint in the US Air Force, and in England skiing and motorcycle racing. Then, in the late 1960s, he took flying lessons in a Cessna 150. He was on his way to becoming a bush pilot. Later, his adventures in Canada and Alaska, flying, hunting for caribou and moose, inspired this memoir.
