Top rear fore-corner lightly bumped. Some speckling along the fore-edge of the lower board, possibly glue seepage from binding. Inside pages are clean, bright and unmarked. Dustjacket is has very light wear to the corners. No price on the jacket. An alphabet book, with a comical poem for each letter, with lots of fun wordplay. Watercolour illustrations. .

New York: McLoughlin Brothers. Fair. Stapled wraps. [16] p. 26 cm. No publication or copyright date. Illustrated, paper covers with stapled spine. One staple is gone and the spine has been hand sewn for almost 2". Spine split along bottom 3". Edges and covers are heavily worn, with creases, tears, stains, and a small piece missing from the rear cover. A long tear on the back cover has been repaired with paper and glue on the inside. Name written on front cover and gift inscription dated 1889 on blank side of front. Inside pages have some tears, soiling and staining, with heavy discoloration of the text pages. Illustration pages, with all their faults, are still quite bright and attractive. An 19th century alphabet book with rhymes using the animals from the ark for each letter, and eight full colour lithographs illustrating the animals names in the rhymes.
