Printed on both sides of a single sheet of newsprint; recto reprints a petition originally published in the New York Times for Feb 22, 1962; verso is commentary by Circuit Riders, Inc., a Cincinnati-based Christian-Nationalist conservative movement. Horizontal fold; mild toning to margins; Very Good. The petition, signed by some six hundred public figures including Noam Chomsky, James Baldwin, Denise Levertov, Martin Luther King, Jr., and many others, calls for the immediate abolition of the House Un-American Activities Committee, accusing its members of dividing the citizenry, denying free speech, and distracting the public from matters of real political importance. The author was "Research Director" for the Christian Crusade, a faith-based, segregationist, anti-Communist ministry founded and fronted by televangelist Billy James Hargis.

Tan buckram (hardcover); 139pp. Clean and solid copy, not far from fine but for a spot of lifting to cloth on front cover and mild darkening to spine; internally fine.Though advertised as a "handbook of social facts," the author in fact puts forth a detailed anti-radical agenda, arguing for gradual, liberal-minded reforms versus revolutionary re-structuring of the class system. Uncommon, and a particularly nice copy.

Self-published exposé of left-wing bias in Wisconsin higher education, in the form of a series of reprinted letters between John C. Love, a conservative Waukesha attorney, and Reza Rezazadeh, chair of the History Department at Wisconsin State University-Platteville. Love accuses Rezazadeh of being "an activist who wants to use his teaching position as a station from which he can change our socio-economic and political system," and cites as evidence the professor's references to statements by such dangerous left-wing extremists as George McGovern, Gaylord Nelson, and J. William Fulbright. OCLC locates a single institutional holding (Wisc. Historical Soc.).

Long's posthumously-published political fantasy, imagining a world in which he has won the 1936 Presidential race and begun instituting his populist reform agenda. Long-form fiction proved a perhaps over-elaborate vehicle for campaign propaganda (especially given Long's target audience), and My First Days in the White House did not sell well.
