Description:
Paris: Noir et Rouge, 1963. Staple-bound pamphlet. Quarto; printed wrappers; 13p. Light wear; Near Fine. Text entirely in French. Presents, without commentary, a French translation of the article on "Anarchism" in the 1958 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. Noir & Rouge Brochure was the periodical organ of Noir & Rouge, the platformist anarchist group founded in 1955 after a split from the FCL (Federation Communiste Libertaire). Perhaps the best-known associate of Noir et Rouge was Daniel Cohn-Bendit, aka "Danny the Red," who would play a role as spokesperson for the May events in France. "Noir et Rouge, like SoB, and the Situationists...had an important influence on the build-up to May 1968.." (see the five-part article "In The Tradition: Where Our Politics Comes From" in ORGANISE, organ of the Anarchist Federation of Great Britain, 1999).

Description:
New York: Situationist International, 1969. First Edition. Broadside, 44cm x 57cm. Printed offset in black on white uncoated lithograhic paper; text in two columns beneath headline in Gothic type. Minor wrinkling at margins, else Fine. Issued January 10, 1969 as a "supplement" to the first issue of the American journal Situationist International, the imminent publication of which it announces. Possibly the first official pronouncement of the American Situationists following their admission to the SI in December, 1968. The broadside actually pre-dates publication of the first journal issue by some six months; and though earlier materials by the same core group of authors (primarily Robert Chasse) were published in 1967-8, these were issued prior to the admission of the American Section, all under the imprint of "The Council for the Liberation of Daily Life." Not in RASPAUD.
