Quite nice and tight first edition of this in-depth study, inscribed and signed by the author in blue ballpoint on front flyleaf: "For / L.H. Geddes / With Best Wishes / Sincerely / F. Stanley." "F. Stanley" was the nom-de-plume of the mysterious Father Stanley Crocchiola (1908-96), a Catholic priest in Texas whose passion for writing history led him to author a prolific number of Western histories -- by one count 177, by another count 190. While some historians criticize him for factual errors, many others applaud his original research.

Fine/very good. Newish binding is bright and superb, while text block shows mild age toning and occasional edgewear, with title page (only) soiled and edgeworn; ownership signature on front pastedown. Tight and nice first edition of this second portion (complete unto itself) of the "Annual Report of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution Showing the Operations, Expenditures, and Condition of the Institution for the Year Ending June 30, 1901," the first portion which consisted on William Henry Holmes' "Flint Implements and Fossil Remains from a Sulphur Springs at Afton, Indian Territory" as well as other reports. The color plate images of Native American pottery are superb.

A tight, attractive first edition of this poetry collection about Native Americans, boldly signed and inscribed by the author on the front flyleaf: "2/29/84 / To Lilly Tolpo, / with very special regards, / Donna Duesel de la Torriente," with her personal business card affixed beneath. (Lily Tolpo, 1917-2016, is a part Native American sculptor and wife of noted sculptor/painter Carl Tolpo, 1901-76). Tipped to the front pastedown is an 8½" X 11" single sheet typed press release, at the bottom of which de la Torriente pens a couple of lines. Laid in loose is a leaflet for this book and a second typed biographical sheet about her.
