Attractive hardcover volume with the original issue paper wraps bound in; original stiff paper front cover present, with print in red and black ink. The binding has light wear, a bit more to the lower corners, spine gilt lettering a bit faded. Tightly bound. Unmarked. Paper age toned. Attractive former ownership book plate, ex-libris H. S. Contemporary binding, tan cloth backed with gilt stamped leather label on spine; decorated patterned paper, very attractive (binding by U. Molzer, Boston, MA). Very clean, minor wear, well bound. Text has light pencil markings off and on, throughout the book; very lightly age toned paper. One page tear repaired. XXVI (2), 513pp including index, plus plates, some fold-out. NY: Brentano's, 1944. First printing. Paperback. Very Good. Paper wraps with some discoloration to covers and light edge wear; clean. Well bound copy. Text is totally unmarked on very lightly age-toned paper. Inscribed and signed by both authors. The inscription part has an ink stamp on it. Reads "Pour Monsieur Pierre Clemens / en homage / Claude Leibel /oise Perrier".

Bound-in wraps, with most of front cover missing, partial loss to rear page cover. Small paper chipping to front inner hinge, o/w well bound. Former ownership ink stamp on title page, upside down: "Mo. Bot. Garden, 1897" and most likely refers to the Missouri Botanical Gardens. No other institutional markings and otherwise clean with some age toning, unmarked with generally light foxing. Half-title page; 220 [1]. Some woodcut head and tail pieces. Matching two volumes: 1/4 red leather bound, five raised bands to each, with marbled paper covered boards, which are rubbed. Both volumes have edge wear, some scuffing to leather, spine leather darkened, but gilt title and numbering still bright. Marbled end pages, well bound, firm hinges.
