The poems, mostly about baking, cleaning, gathering eggs, and the like, have strong rhythms and solid rhyme patterns. K - Gr 2. Actually adults will love the illustrations here, as well.

The illustrations are just too cute. CONTENT: When Emma, the country mouse, and Henry, the city mouse, go to the Texas State Fair to enter Emma's macaroni and cheese recipe in the cooking competition, they learn a lot about America's second largest state. Early to Intermediate readers, IMHO.
