NY: Johnson Fry & Co.. First Edition . Soft cover. Very Good. Alonzo Chappel. 43 of the 46 volumes which were bound together into a set in 1857. They are lg. 4to softcovers, magazine-style. This must have been frustrating to read as a serial; the volumes often end and again begin in mid-sentence. Each has a full-page engraving by Chappel, including some of his most famous work. The missing volumes are #s 1, 2 and 46. The remainder are overall in vg condition; the cover of vol. 3 once came loose (is now reattached) but most appear untouched.
