Detailed depiction of the Nile River Valley oriented to the west, with ancient place names. Inset (Bellorum Alexandrini et Pontici Conspectus) shows the Eastern Mediterranean at the time of Alexander the Great. In margin at upper right: “Vol IV, Page 149.” Margins narrow but ample (between ¼" x 3/8 inch). Bit of color displaced on border at upper right, adhesive repair at edge of verso (not affecting image) , hinging remnant at upper corners. Later hand-colored outline, with coloring of cartouche. Attractive copper engraving. .
