Issued from the same setting of type as the James Linden production which featured 4 mounted photographs by Michael Mundy and the 4 verses of the poem on 4 separate sheets. This one prints the whole poem on one large leaf with "This printing of Apology for Bad Dreams is a gift of Peter Koch celebrating the publication of James Linden's portfolio edition with photographs by Michael Mundy" beneath. Approximately 19 x 26" on heavy cream paper with top and bottom edges untrimmed and Koch's penciled colophon with signature at right reading, "6/11 Peter Koch 3/15/86." Fine. Scarce to rare.

Letter "Z" of 26 COPIES BOUND IN FULL LEATHER and housed in handmade clamshell box, each copy SIGNED BY BROWN AND MOSER and with TWO LOOSE LITHOGRAPHS SIGNED BY MOSER in glassine envelope laid in (one is the frontispiece illustration, the other appears opposite the first page of text and is of Brown). The handmade box is by artist Kannex Fung and features heavily textured handmade papers and a small wooden picket fence that becomes a stockade when the box is fully closed. A beautiful, fine-press production. Although Billy Ray, Brown's son, has had persistent bad luck with cattle, in this non-fiction essay featuring dead calves, misbehaving bulls, rampaging coyotes and dilapidated fences, both father and son remain optimistic: "Billy Ray's farm does not yet exist on an earthly plane," writes Brown, but "on Billy Ray's farm there will be total harmony, wooden fence rows straight as a plumb line, clean, with no weeds, no rusted barbed wire." Original pen-and-ink drawing on 11 x 14" illustration board depicting Capote as a 1930s gangster wearing a pinstripe suit with combat-style U.S.-flag patch on his left arm, a banded fedora atop his head, and carrying a machine-gun style "violin" case with what looks to be an F-16 protruding from it. Drawn by polictical cartoonist Taylor Jones, presumably for the Charleston Gazette as it is copyrighted as such and he worked for them at the time. Signed and dated 1977 by Jones who currently produces political cartoons for the Hoover Digest. The first three installment of Capote's infamous unfinished novel, ANSWERED PRAYERS, appeared in Esquire in 1975, dropping like a bomb on New York's high society, and marking the beginning of his downward spiral. Perhaps drawn in response to the uproar. Tiny pin holes at corners and mild scuffing along top edge otherwise very nearly fine.

Large, 19 x 25" broadside poster designed and printed by William Wittliff at The Encino Press featuring an excerpt from McMurtry's IN A NARROW GRAVE ("Texas is rich in unredeemed dreams, and now that the dust of its herds is settling the writers will be out on their pencils, looking for them in the suburbs and along the mythical Pecos...."). Tan paper lettered in black with initials in red; with illustration by Wittliff of cowboys on horseback printed in silver and black. Fine. Scarce.

Approximately 13 x 13 x 1"; with numbered, printed label on back along with embedded wire hook for hanging and two felt circles. Housed in original numbered white cardboard box with gold-trimmed blue ribbon and printed label (measures around 14.5" square and is in very good condition). We find no mention of any other copies available online. Fine. Rare.
