Externally bumped and scuffed at ends of spine and corners, front board very slightly bowed. Inside, neat ink name dated 1879 to top of half-title page. Faint scattered foxing but first few and last few pages moslty affected. The original owner has made single word notes in the margins in tiny elegant handwriting, legibility of text not affected. Good tight copy.

Literary agency label attached to 1st endpaper; a date and time in neat ink writing also on 1st endpaper; endpapers a little browned with a slight water stain ; otherwise a good tight copy.
