The entire book is printed in black and red is of striking art nouveau design. Contains a chapter on Walter Crane with 12 pages of text and 14 pages of illustrations. Also with material on T.J. Cobden-Sanderson and Theodore Low de Vinne. A fine, bright copy.

Illustrated title page and 38 other designs in black and white reproduced by Emery Walker and Arthur Leverett. Erratum slip tipped opposite p. 33. Printed by the Chiswick Press on laid paper. Poetry. Beautiful Elkin Mathew's production. Light occasional foxing and intermittent browning of leaves; endpapers browned; bookplate of John Eland on pastedown; spine toned, rubbed and worn at ends; corner tips worn bare; tiny bump to fore edge of upper board. Frontispiece portraits in each volume by either T. Eyre Macklin or James Torrance. All volumes with ads citing Scott's 12 volume set of Hawthorne, or the 12 titles here as being part of the publsiher's New England Library series.
