Newton Abbot, David Charles,1968, pp.156,illustrated. The dust jacket has few marks and has been covered in sticky-back plastic to preserve it, the book is very good. With a presentation inscription signed by the two authors.

Manchester, Henry Smith, 1828, pp. [2], 230. Original boards with paper label. largely unopened. A little dusty, but in exceptional sound and original condition. Includes "a reply to an article on the Spinning Machinery contained in a recent number of the Edinburgh Review." Goldsmith 25498.

Manchester, Joseph Pratt, 1823, 4to, pp. (4), 70, 4, 12 plates as called for. Original boards neatly re-backed with a leather spine. Boards rubbed and stained, but still tight and sound. Please note that there is some foxing and browning throughout, as seems quite usual, but this is an acceptable copy of an important early work on the cotton manufacture. Photos on request.

Cornwall,The Camborne Printing and Stationary Co, 1896, pp. (12), 351, numerous illustrations. Original cloth with gilt lettering. Slightest of rubbing to extremities, but a very good, sound copy.

Halifax, Milner, [1836] small format, 13x8cm, pp. 96. Original cloth, rubbed and stained, neatly rebacked. Some heavy ink marks, mainly marginal, but some underlining, particularly to the early pages. Piece torn from margin of one leaf, not touching the text. Generally a rather used copy, but a scarce edition, Library Hub recording only copies at Oxford and Reading Univesities.

Salford, 1893, 62 page pamphlet. Original card covers a bit dusty and foxed, but sound condition. The full title is Rails and Waterways. George Stephenson and M. Ferdinand de Lesseps. The men and their work: The First Public Railway in the World and the Suez and Panama Canals. Ottley 2466.

Wimborne, 1971, 30 pages plus pages 17a to 17f, and appendices, printed from typescript on one side of the page only. Original cloth. Folding pedigree. A scarce privately printed account of the Jessops, best known for William, the canal and railway builder and one of the founders of the Butterley Company. There is also much detail on the succeeding generations.

Hume Kitchin, Ulverston, 1914, 8vo, pp. 60, (5), with 14 illustrations. Original cloth, a little faded, but very good, sound condition. Scarce.

Manchester University Press,1904, first edition,pp.vii, 309. A few small marks to the front cover, head and tail of spine a bit bumped, but very sound in the original cloth. Stamp of the Free Trade Union on the front endpaper, but no other marks. Includes a useful and detailed bibliography.

Truro, Joseph Tregoning, 1824, 8vo, pp. 136. Original boards, edges uncut. Spine worn and defective, boards dusty, edges and corners rubbed, but still tight and sound. Name erased from front endpaper, leaving the date, but contents good and clean.

Wirksworth, J. Cotes, 1810, 8vo, pp. xx, 150, with two illustrations and list of subscribers. Paper discoloured in places, but very good condition in modern quarter calf with marbled paper boards. Particlarly relates to lead mining in the High Peak of Derbyshire.

Northern Mine Research Society, 1980, A4,pp.95, folding plan of the principal veins and other illustrations. Name on tile-page, but a nice,clean copy in the original illustrated card covers. British Mining No.13.

Newcastle, Wm Heaton, 1846, pp. 56. Neatly bound in recent marbled wrappers with printed label. Very good condition. Goldsmiths 34634, COPAC lists only 3 copies.

P. S. King & Son, 1919. pp. xiii, 172 plus adverts. Original cloth, good condition.

Rochdale, Hartley for the author, 1816, pp. (4), xiv, 414, (no page 311/312 as is correct). Modern half leather binding over cloth sides. Binding sound, paper browned with some foxing, especially heavy on pages 298 to 310.. Ink name on title and the previous owner has blind stamped his name to the corner of several leaves. As well as canals and reservoirs the author covers cotton manufacture, corn mills and public drains. A sound copy of a rare book.

Helmshore Local History Society, 2003., pp. (8), 508, illustrated. Original limp card covers, Reading creases to spine, lightly used, but good, sound condition.
