One of the better known British sexploitation films of the 1970s, having been the subject of a 1975 episode of BBC program "Man Alive" (season 9, episode 24 "Xploitation"), as well as having been one of three British sex films viewed by moral reformer Lord Longford. A pair of greedy brothers are summoned to their father's estate after his death, but are instructed not to enter the house until the reading of the will, and are forced to stay instead with servants Adam and Nicole, in a cottage on the grounds. Collection of seven vintage black-and-white still photographs and two double weight sepia photographs from the UK release of the 1935 British documentary film. Included is the original trasmittal envelope, with the printed label, "On His Majesty's Service." Featured in two of the photographs are Henry Hall and his Orchestra (a.k.a., the BBC Symphony Orchestra), the BBC "house band" in the 1930s. The earliest, and perhaps the first, documentary on the British Broadcasting Service, paying tribute to its technological greatness, the span of its reach, the people affected by it, and its diversity of news, humor, lifestyle reporting, and music. Though broadcast in two parts, this script contains both the first and second parts. Kevin Whately plays Jimmy Griffin, an ex-cop now working as an investigator for an insurance company still finds ways to use his detective skills at his new job, and somehow between his wife and employees fawning over him manages to create a lot of drama beyond that which he finds through his work. In this episode an ex-soldier kills his father and attempts to claim the father's insurance, at which point Jimmy (and his whole family) gets involved. Archive of 20 photographs, consisting of eight vintage black and white photographs of British rock group Faces performing onstage in 1975, and twelve vintage black and white candid photographs of lead singer Rod Stewart and guitarist Ronnie Wood relaxing backstage and signing autographs. With the stamp and printed label of photographer Duana LeMay to the verso, and several with manuscript ink annotations regarding layout. Faces was formed in 1969, and released four albums before breaking up shortly after completing their 1975 US tour. 18 photographs 8 x 10 inches, one photograph 7.5 x 10 inches, and one photograph 7 x 6 inches. London: London Features International, 1970. Collection of 13 vintage photographs of Elton John, circa 1970s, including twelve bordered photographs and one borderless. Twelve photographs with printed agency labels or stamps on the verso, and many with photographer stamps and manuscript ink annotations on the verso. Two photographs show John alongside his longtime lyricist Bernie Taupin, although the balance show John onstage in a variety of intricate and outlandish costumes, including one photograph capturing the musician playing the piano in a particularly flamboyant sequined coat with matching angel wings and halo. Especially notable among the collection is a photograph of the musician meeting Princess Alexandria of Denmark, circa 1972. From the collection of noted British film producer John Palmer. The GPO served as the state postal system and telecommunications carrier of the UK from 1660 until 1969, when it was replaced by The Post Office. The GPO Film Unit was created in 1933, taking on the responsibilities of the Empire Marketing Board Film Unit, and was later renamed the Crown Film Unit during World War II, when it was integrated into the Ministry of Information. Copies belonging to make-up artist Teresa Kelly, with her manuscript name and annotations throughout in highlighter and ink. Included in the listing are Archive also includes 20 pages of call sheets and shooting schedules with Kelly's manuscript annotations. Almost certainly begun as an attempt to at least in part mimic the early success of the long-running sitcom "Friends," "Wonderful You" follows a group of thirty-something aged friends in London as they navigate their convoluted interpersonal relationships. Unlike "Friends," however, in which all the main characters start out as single and slowly acquire partners, "Wonderful You" contains a number of different states of romantic relationships right from the beginning, including a few single people, a successful couple in a long term relationship, a gay couple, and an unhappily married couple with a young son.… Read More
