Although an ostensible remake of the hit 1932 Universal film, Hammer Film adaptation of this title borrowed its plot largely from Universal's "The Mummy's Hand" (1940) and "The Mummy's Tomb" (1942), with the climax taken directly from "The Mummy's Ghost" (1944). When British archeologists, led by John Banning (Peter Cushing), despoil the tomb of an Egyptian high priestess Princess Anaka (Yvonne Furneaux), they awaken her keeper and former, lover high priest Kharis (Christopher Lee). The only Hammer film to feature the actor combination of Lee, Cushing and Michael Ripper. 8 x 10 inches.
