First Draft script for the 1978 film, here under the working title "High School," with a faint manuscript pencil annotation of the release title on the front wrapper. Several high school students plot revenge and backstabbing over the course of a hotly debated election for class president. The only Motown Productions feature to not feature primarily African American characters. A precursor to the popular coming of age films of the 1980s. Shot on location in Los Angeles. London: Twentieth Century-Fox, 1958. Collection of 7 vintage full-color British front-of-house cards from the 1958 UK release of the 1957 US film. Based on George Agnew Chamberlain's 1941 novel, "The Phantom Filly," about a juvenile delinquent and his stay at a run down Kentucky ranch. Eventually he gains an interest in all things mechanical, including the hot sports car owned by a neighboring young woman. A story set and shot in Kentucky. 8 x 10 inches. Faint creasing overall, else Near Fine.

Los Angeles: Twentieth Century-Fox, 1957. Vintage post-production Synopsis for the 1957 film. Based on the 1941 novel "Phantom Filly" by George Agnew Chamberlain. Troubled teen, Nick (Pat Boone), is forced to live and work on his uncle's Kentucky farm where he falls in love in their pretty neighbor Liz (Shirley Jones). Set in and shot on location in Lexington, Kentucky. Self-wrappers integral with title page, noted as Synopsis. Four leaves, with last page of text numbered 6. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only. Pages Very Good plus with light foxing and edgewear, bound with single staple in upper left corner.

Baltimore: N.p., 1951. Archive of six vintage black and white photographs of students at Druid Junior High School 137 in Baltimore, including five showing students gathered in the music classroom, and one showing what appears to be a Christmas nativity recital. Four photographs dated variously between 1949 and 1951 in manuscript ink annotation to the bottom margin, and two photographs undated, with no annotations. The photographs broadly document young African American students cheerfully posing with various instruments, and three show an older man who appears to be the class music teacher standing to the far left. Three photographs 10 x 8 inches, one photograph 10 x 7.5 inches, one photograph 10 x 7 inches, and one photograph 7 x 5 inches. Generally Very Good, with moderate creasing, edgewear, and fading throughout.

A wealthy couple's teenage daughter discovers her parents are planning to divorce, and pretends to be in love with a foolish actor in order to reunite them. 7.25 x 9.25 inches. London: Three Kings Films, 1964. Draft script for the 1965 film. With several substantive manuscript emendations to dialogue throughout. A British "teen" comedy, with a title that borrows the title (and spirit) of Conrad Hilton's 1957 autobiography. A family inherits a seaside hotel and has trouble filling it up until their son's rock group begins bringing in the crowds. One of several British films from the mid-sixties which offered the added inducement of a guest appearance by "The Killer," Jerry Lee Lewis (who had more success in the UK than the USA after marrying his teenage cousin in 1958). Magenta titled wrappers with a die-cut title window in the British style. Title page present, dated 6-11-64 in manuscript pencil, with credits for screenwriter and composer Fairhurst. 108 leaves, mechanical duplication on eye-rest green stock, with pink revision pages throughout, dated 23.11.64. Resentful of her father's new Parisian wife, a teenage girl attempts to wreck the marriage with the help of her English beatnik friends. An early appearance by actress Gillian Hills, who went on to enjoy a successful career as a ye-ye pop singer in France. Set in London, shot on location in London and Kent. 10 x 8 inches. Near Fine.

Los Angeles: Paramount Pictures, 1960. Collection of eight vintage studio still photographs from the 1960 film. Seven with dealer stamps on the verso. Not to be confused with the 1950 film of the same name. A group of teenagers find a briefcase of money, leading to discord and consternation about what to do with the cash. 10 x 8 inches. Near Fine.

New York: Theatre De Lys, 1971. Vintage oversize poster for the 1971 off-Broadway play, which played at the Theatre de Lys in New York on June 17, 1971 and played for 247 performances before closing on June 6, 1972. Winner of the Drama Desk Award for Best Play of the 1971-72 season. Originally broadcast on PBS for an episode of the WGBH Boston televison series "On Being Black" during the 1968-1969 season, before being produced by the New Federal Theatre at St. Augustine's Church, directed by noted playwright and stage director Shauneille Perry. After playing to full houses and rave reviews the play then moved to the Theatre de Lys on June 17, 1971. The first major stage production of a play by Franklin. Following the production at the Theatre de Lys the play then toured Baltimore, Washington DC, Chicago, and Detroit. Venice, CA: A Tony Bill / Bill Beneson Production, 1978. Revised Draft script for the 1979 film, with rainbow revisions. Copied annotations throughout striking top right corner, revising revision dates, and adjusting dialogue. Danny De La Paz, in his first screen appearance, portrays Chuco, a Chicano low-rider and member of the 11th Street gang, whose older brother Raymond, played by Richard Yniguez, is a former gang member trying to find a way to get Chuco out, before tensions rise to a full-on gang war between the 11th Street gang and rival gang Varrio Grande Vista (V.G.V.). Shot entirely on location in the Mexican American community of East Los Angeles, "Boulevard Nights" employed the local Chicano community both as extras and assisting behind the scenes. Illustrated with black-and-white vignette photographs of items for sale, each represented with a serial number, accompanied by a corresponding descriptive price catalogue. Thousands of toys, puzzles, board games, sports equipment, and miniatures are featured, including Pierres Magiques miniatures, foosball, sewing kits, toy guns, figurines, musical instruments, watches and jewelry, dolls, holiday decorations, rocking horses, and tricycles. Also included are two descriptive price supplements for sales catalogues from early 1961, January and May, each with laid-in leaves of similar photographic vignettes. The monthly catalogues are presumably what the company issued on a regular basis, and the deluxe 1961-1962 catalogue acted as a yearbook, issued only periodically during high-demand seasons.
