A copper engraved, hand coloured map of the county with a pictorial title cartouche, county shield, compass pointer, scale (approx 10 miles to the inch) and explanation. Shows the roads, parks and the towns of Maidenhead, Uxbridge, Leighton Buzzard, Bicester, and Stratford. Image size approx. 195mm x 170mm. Minor smudge above crest. An attractive, detailed genuine antique map in very good clean and bright condition.

Original steel engraved map with original outline hand colouring. 5 vignettes include St Peters Port, Castle Cornet, Druidian Alter near Lancresse, Mount Orgueil Castle and Jersey. Decorative border encloses 2 maps of the large islands of Jersey and Guernsey with an inset of the other islands. Single page unfolded map in excellent, clean condition. Associated text page of the Montgomery Martin Atlas included. A good Tallis Map.

Early hand coloured double page copper engraved map. From Speed's "The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain" with English text on verso and a description of the county and a gazetteer. Inset town plan of Chester. Seven coast of arms of "The Armes of the Earles of Chester since the Norman Conquest". Four decorative cartouches. Speed has used William Smith's revisions of Saxton and the Braun & Hogenberg plan of Chester. Good margins. Very small hole (approx 2mm or 1/10in) in the decorative border, otherwise fine condition. A strong dark impression of this famous decorative county map of Cheshire.

Seller, John. Cheshire. 1787 Quarto size page with map and text. Map size 12cm x 15cm, early hand coloured. Map showing the hundreds, towns and hill areas. Text below map and over with a description of Cheshire and the antiquities therein. This map used by Grose for the Antiquities of England with all reference to Seller removed. Early paint mark below lower border, otherwise in good clean and bright condition.

Eleven coats of arms, scale and decorative title cartouche. Very small loss to lower blank margins not affecting printed area. An attractive Speed map in very good condition.

Small tear to edge, otherwise in bight and clean condition with strong print. Rare to find this town plan removed from the county map.
