Dustwrapper age toned to edges and spine with small tears to top spine, without loss. Also included are 6 8vo lose sheets in the hand of Ian Grey with over thirty inaccuracies written by Gladys Scott Thomson. Two interesting sources of information from two authors.

Pp 62. contents include The Kuomintang communist crisis in china, The Chinese Communist case, Soviet-Japanese Neutrality Pact, Intrigues of the Pro-Japanese Generals, How the World War affects China and Japan and China's Foreign policy. All pages age toned and covers marked. The contents page has the signature of the late Communist and Poet Arnold Rattenbury, dated 1941. An interesting read of the time, by a notable resident of China.

Binding rubbed at edges. PP 631, pp10 publishers ads. Bookplate of Russian Historian Ian Grey on front pastedown. His handwritten name, ownership date and publication date on title page. Imprint page has pencil note indicating the book was bound into hardback by C and H T Evans 06/01/64. Some pencil lines in margins ad text. Pp418..447 have sixteen pages with laid on text sheets indicating perhaps a print failing on these pages. A good book with an interesting provenance and unique tight binding.

Binding and pages tight, bright and clean. An interesting book with an interesting provenance.

With two typed letters signed. One from Douglas A Stump of the Dial Press to the Historian Ian Grey outlining the contents of the book and asking for his comments on the book. The other is letter is from the author to Ian Grey thanking him for his review of the book in History Today and indicating how Ian Grey had influenced his work. There are draft notes for a reply by Ian Grey in pencil on this letter. Book is tight bright and clean. Letters are bright and clean, though toned along one edge where they have been exposed to light. A first class work with an interesting provenance.
