Holzenberg 448, dated from a proof copy seen by HP Kraus, however the watermark on this copy is 1837. So apparently using up old paper stocks. Rusted paper clip mark to the rear blank.

Broadway: James Rogers [for the Middle Hill Press], 1864 Book. Very Good. Disbound. Single sheet - text printed on one side, the publisher's imprint on the other. The sheet measures approximately 16.5 x 10cm. Quotes from a letter from Rev CS Caffin of Westerham in Kent where he refers to restoring Broadway inhabitants to their "former faith" which Sir Thomas takes as meaning the Roman Catholic faith. One of many anti-Catholic pamphlet produced at the Middle Hill Press.

Part 2 - [iv], 124 pages this seems to lack iv pages at the start in comparison with the copy described by Holzenberg, but matches the three copies I have seen. Long tear into the text on page 97/8 of part 1, but without loss. The two parts bound together in original quarter leather. Two modern bookplates to the front pastedown.Here without the plates that seem to have been separately issued. Holzenberg 249 which refers to both vols.

Part 1 - iv, 136p. first iv pages loosely inserted and on a larger size paper than the rest of the volume, they are creased and chipped to the edges. Part 2 - [iv], 124p this seems to lack iv pages at the start in comparison with the copy described by Holzenberg. The two parts bound together in original very worn quarter morocco. Signs of a bookplate having been removed from the front pastedown. Front free end paper detached and with some abrasions. Together with a volume of plates in the Middle HIll boards, the plates for part 1 loosely inserted, those for part 2 bound in. Some browning and spotting. 26 plates. Holzenberg 249 which refers to both vols. Part 2 and the plates are more difficult to find than part 1.

Both in the original Middle Hill boards. Part 1 binding in good condition, Part 2 the spine is very torn. Part 2 has the preface set in 2 slight variants. Browning and spotting to some pages. Pencil note to the front pastedown of Part 1 "There was a Priory at Hullavington" and another note to page 1 of Part 2 " to p52 taken 2 March 1837 to Bodley. Bodleian Library ex dono T Phillipps de Middle Hill 1836 " Holzenberg 249 - Part 2 and the plates are more difficult to find than part 1..
