Very Good pictorial cloth boards in beige and rust with a Greek Warrior print designed by Alexander H. Williamson, and with dark brown titling to the spine and front cover. The head and tail of the spine are slightly 'pushed' due to storage - but covers are VERY clean, tight and bright, having been protected by the d/j. In the original publisher's pictorial dust-jacket. The front flap is price-clipped. The top edge is a little creased and the inner edges discoloured. The base colour of the d/j is a lime green, the d/j spine is slightly faded, but all titling, etc, is clear. NO damage. The edges are a little darkened/dusty here and there, but the overall the d/j is Very Good, and is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks Very Good. Titling in gilt to the spine, with decorations (lightly rubbed) and a large decorative bright gilt title and colour illustration to the front board. Boards lightly bumped/rubbed to the head/tail of the spine and corners, and a small neat repair to the top rear inner edge of the spine, - but all negligible. Overall covers are VG. No dust-jacket. Overall, apart from the minor 'faults', as detalied above, this is an Excellent, Clean, Tight and Bright, 'Fine' copy. Quarter-bound in the orginal contemporary binding with a beige cloth spine, and paper covered boards. No Titling to the spine or boards. (Probably had a paper label - now missing). All covers are a little marked/grubby and there is a 2" narrow split in the top inner edge to the cloth of the spine - but all hinges tight and sound - it's just the cloth that has split. The corners, edges and head/tail of the spine are bumped, with a little scraping to the corners but generally sound, tight and complete. Plain Endpapers with traces of a bookplate (? ) having been removed from the front pastedown.
