In Yellow paper covers and lettered in gold (slightly dulled) . An attractive little book - Sized 3.4" x 2.1" (8.7 cm x 5.2 cm). 8 pages (25-28pp and 45-48pp) have the bottom BLANK edges CUT OFF, but with hardly any loss to the text, except for some slight close-trimming, particularly to the fore-edge of page 26, where the December dates (1 to 31) from 20 onwards have lost the first digit. The first part of the book is a straight forward Almanac, each page with a blank page for notes opposite (nothing written on any). From page 28 onwards there are pages of 'Useful Information' - similar to that in our current diaries. The US (Whitman) version of this book was published in 1949, and acknowledgement is noted on the Tuck copyright page - rear of the front cover. Pictorial paper boards. Stapled - very slightly rusty - but only seen in the centre double fold - negligible. In the Tiny Tales Series - numbered TT1001 on the bottom of the rear cover No Inscriptions or marks inside. 20 pp. Illustrated in full colour by Louise Myers. Each number has an Animal illustration and accompanying verse. "Three Little Kittens, Climb up a Tree, See them jump down again - One-Two -Three." . Very clean and tight - a little wear to the covers. Charming illustrations for the young reader/learner/listener. The rear cover lists 10 other titles in this series. Oxford: Printed At the University Press, By Samuel Collingwood and Co. ,. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1836. Reprint. Hardcover. A Macro-Miniature copy (3.5" Long x 2.0" Wide x 1.5" Deep). Dark ox blood coloured full leather boards, raised bands with embossed decorated compartments and title in gilt to the spine. Simple blind stamped foliage decoration to the front and rear boards. Corners rubbed, more so to the top two corners, o/w tight and clean. Gilt decorated inner dentelles. All edges gilt - showing some wear/rubbing. Internally the front endpapers are marked, stained and have a former owner's name in the ffep. The second free endpaper has been glued to the first free endpaper for some reason in the past. The title page and the rest of the text block is clean and tight, complete with the Gunpowder Treason section (removed mid-century). Includes an Integral ribbon bookmark, a bit 'rolled'. At Fault - The book lacks the Frontispiece and a 'slipcase' - and although this type of book did vary in content (probably hand put together) I have had a complete copy for sale which did have a frontispiece, so am assuming this originally did have one. A Charming 'Miniature' Childrens book = a tiny mauve hardback with a full colour pictorial onlay of a little Brownie sitting on a Mushroom blowing a 'dandelion clock', the pictorial onlay is rubbed and has a little spot of surface loss - but nothing major. Secured by 2 light purple 'string' ties as issued. The paper spine is torn with a little loss (a small hole) to the central section. NO Date given, but circa 1910/20s? . Full colour illustration from the story on the front and a lovely advert for Kiwi Boot Polish on the reverse. No date but many smaller publishing companies joined the children’s little book market in 1942. There were 60 successful Mighty Midgets: Thrilling Tales series, published by W. Barton Ltd. London, of which this is one. So date approx 1942-1945? . This book measures 3.7" by 2½ " ( 9.3cm x 6.5cm) with thirty-two pages, and contains six bold woodcut-style illustrations and a title-page line-drawn vignette. Covers have some very slight wear to the extremities and there is a small 'nick' with loss to the very top of the rear cover - all pretty negligible. A charming small book of illustrated nursery rhymes featuring 'Three Jolly Welshmen' as the longest verse. Three Jolly Welshmen is an old British folk song dating to at least the early 17th century. In illustrated stapled card covers printed in blue/white/black, this was originally part of a series by Brockhampton produced as a 'Bundle of Four Books'. No date shown but the Illustrator was very active in the 1950s. Size is approx 4.6" x 2.8". Overall in excellent condition, apart from some slight 'bleeding' in the centre from the staples, which are rusting just a little. Unpaginated but consists of 20 pp. Charmingly Illustrated by Joan Gale Thomas in a sillhouette format in black/white and blue/black. A most attractive little publication 4" x 2. 5" (approx 10cm x 6.5 cm) in sewn blue wraps, with a woodcut of children praying around a table below the title, in a charming decorative border. Very clean. Internally the woodcut and title is repeated on the first page - a good deep impression - NO date shown but likely 1815/30? .
