In the original dark maroon cloth boards with gilt titling to the spine and front cover with an oblong 'buttterfly' illustration in bright gilt to the front board as well. SERIES 1 and 2. Some slight rubbing to the extremities, a little light fading to the colour, and some small loss to the head/tail of the spine - most hardly noticable. Overall the book presents very well. Paper pasted on card, of Randolph Station (presume in Pennsylvania). Print quite faded and yellow/brown in tones. Card surround is grubby and lightly spotted, but a scarce image with a Locomotive shownto the side and the small station in the distance. Print surrounded by a double border in gold and 'Atlantic and Great Western Railway' above the image in dark brown Calligraphic type. Lower centre under image, stamped in gold = J. F. Red thin stapled card covers with lettering in black and a gold border around the title 'Carmarthen' and an oval gilt heraldic device in the centre of the cover.
