Publisher's brown cloth over blue boards with paper label affixed to upper board, 12mo (7 1/4 inches in height x 4 3/4 inches in width), pp. 265. Warm year of publication gift inscription on free front endpaper from the author to previous owner. A bit of scuffing and rubbing at spine ends and on paper spine label. Small spot of discoloration on front panel near bottom edge. Upper board fore-edge protrudes slightly farther than lower board fore-edge, as in an overbite. GOOD and sound, withal. Author was the last surviving daughter of Union Civil War General Charles J. Paine. An uncommon title institutionally, with an April 2023 OCLC search returning Boston Athenaeum; Massachusetts Historical Society; New Bedford Whaling Museum; and New England Historic Genealogy Society only.

Publisher's dark green cloth, octavo, pp. 566. The statistics pages are a bit of a dry read, but there is plentiful good biographical and genealogical information regarding Legislators. Editor Owen (1869-1958) was Director of the state of Alabama's Department of Archives and History, as well as the aunt of actress Tallulah Bankhead. She was inducted into the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame in 1975. Owen has signed the book with her compliments, perhaps in haste, as the inscription is upside down and on the rear free endpaper. Board tips and spine ends of the book are shelf worn. Title lettering has faded away with the decades. Random spots on the binding and on the page edges. Small white sticker on free front endpaper. Internally clean and unmarked.

First University of Georgia (Brown Thrasher) edition, reprinted from the 1910 Savannah edition that was limited to 131 copies (see De Renne III: 1091), now in brown cloth with gilt spine and upper board lettering, octavo, pp. 387. Black and white frontis and portraits; endpaper Genealogical Tables.

Publisher's original pebbled red cloth with spine lettering gilt, octavo, pp. xiv, 108. Black and white illustrations. Just very light foxing on top edge of text block, and fore-edge of upper board extends slightly farther than fore-edge of lower board, as in an overbite. Dust jacket with a nick or two along perimeter but protected now in a sheet of removable Brodart.

Consisting of 3 octavo signatures (gathered but not bound), unopened at top edges, with serial pagination (i. e., running annual numeration): (1) [205]-212; (2) 213-220; (3) 221-224. Several nicks and rounded page tips. A fragile affair but ensconced now in a clear display sleeve with white card-stock backing board. Lead article: "The Voyage of Captain George Waymouth To The Coast Of Maine In 1605." Also of interest: "Incorporation of Brewer, February 22, 1812"

Stiff illustrated stapled wraps, octavo, pp. 38. Illustrations. This copy replete with the fold-out map and the multi-panel fold-out genealogical chart. Previous owner gift inscription in a neat hand on the title page, and two sentences are underlined on page 9. Two old sticker shadows on upper wrap. A few short stray marks on lower wrap. GOOD and sound with just light shelf wear. Ensconced in a clear protective display sleeve.

Publisher's stapled illustrated wrappers, 12mo (approximately 7 x 5 inches), pp. 46. Several illustrations by Anne Kinlaw Hunt. Some light shelf and handling wear.

Originally in the publisher's gray printed wrappers, but rear wrapper now missing and front wrap holding by a thread and likely to separate with further handling. Wrapper spine mostly perished. Largely clean internally save for a few old tide lines at preliminary and terminal pages. String-binding holding sound. Lists of curators, professors, tutors, etc., 1771-date. Ensconced now by us in a clear new display sleeve with white card stock backing board.

Descendants of George Swan / Phebe Adams, et al. Genealogical material compiled by Clara F. Smyth of Pocasset, Massachusetts, circa 1969-1970. Several photos tipped in to pre-labeled frames. Chart designed for clever and convenient compact folding but expands to a large sheet of 24 panels, each measuring 4 inches in width and 7 1/2 inches in height. Panels are printed on one side only. Swan and Adams were both born in Arlington, Mass., and are interred in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. GOOD condition with light shelf and handling wear. Stowed safely now in a clear display sleeve with white card stock backing board. From a limited printing of unstated number.

Publisher's original printed brown wrappers, quarto, pp. 129. Yapp wrapper edges with the nicks and creases they are always subject to. Old vertical soft crease on title page.

Self-published octavo in blue cloth with spine and upper board lettering, pp. 179, [180], plus index. Board tips and spine ends are shelf worn. A few pencil notes expanding the genealogical scope of some family members on page 45. SIGNED by the author on the title page and INSCRIBED by the author to previous owner, a cousin, on the free front endpaper. That cousin appears on page v of the index under the letter D.

Publisher's textured blue cloth with faded spine and upper board lettering, octavo, pp. 117 plus 39 page Appendix plus colophon. Black and white illustrations. This unique copy is from the personal library of Tennessee Newspaper Hall of Fame columnist Bert Vincent and is INSCRIBED to him and his wife by Senator Herbert Walters in the year of publication. Taped onto the front and rear pastedowns are newspaper notices of the death of Senator Walters in 1973. Additionally, taped onto the free front endpaper verso is a cordial letter, folded, to Bert Vincent from Senator Walters's office in Morristown, dated November 4th, 1964, inviting Vincent to a "Welcome Home Reception" for the Senator to be held November 17th of that year at the Talley-Ward building in Morristown.
