Publisher's linen-backed maroon paper-covered boards with paper spine label, octavo, pp. 85 plus additional pages listing Abbey Theatre cast (featuring Barry Fitzgerald) from September 8th, 1924, and three press notices. Modest shelf and handling wear. Soiling to linen and boards. A half-title page may have been excised, as there is a stub that runs vertically in the title page gutter (see photo for our best attempt at a close-up). Possibly a stub from the binding process, but maybe not quite narrow and uniform enough for that (?) GOOD condition withal. Author was one of the so-called "Cork realists."

Previous owner name on front paste-down. Rubbed through at spine ends and board tips, with some loss of the cloth. A 3 inch slit in the cloth on rear panel mid-spine. Previous owner has underlined passages of interest in black; foxing; old tide lines on upper page corners.

Shelf rubbing at spine ends, board tips, and bottom edges. Front hinge is cracked. The brown endpapers are brittle and subject to small pieces flaking off. Serviceable for consultation, withal. Chautauqua Course 1890-1891.

Maroon boards with gold spine lettering, octavo, pp. [x], 237. A few illustrations. Very Good with just light shelf wear. Dust jacket about Very Good with a few shelf rubs. Jacket ensconced now in a new sheet of protective mylar.

Just light shelf wear at spine ends and board tips and a touch of fading to the cloth at lower edge of front panel and upper edge of rear panel. Dust jacket likewise, with light chipping and erosion at spine ends and flap fold points. Jacket now in removable sheet of Brodart.
