Some mild age toning to text block. Dust jacket FAIR-only, with nicks and short tears, especially at spine ends. A couple of old tape repairs by a previous owner are visible beneath Brodart.

Illustrations, Maps, Plans. Wraps, octavo, pp. [x], 103. Black and white illustrations throughout. Light edge-wear and soiling, and old sticker shadow on rear panel, but GOOD and sound in the publisher's gray card-stock wrappers.

Publisher's stapled wrappers, octavo, pp. 15. SIGNED by North Carolina author Archibald Henderson, the subject of this work, beneath frontispiece photo of a Henderson plaque. FAIR-only with old creasing and shelf rubbing. A small portion of the old coffee or tea spot on front wrapper persists directly through the wrap (see image for our best attempt at a close-up). An old Salisbury NC library print-out about Henderson and his friendship with Mark Twain is laid in at the rear. Safely stowed and protected now in a clear new display sleeve with white backing board.

Wraps, octavo, pp. x, 74. Previous owner name in a neat hand at bottom of front panel. Light toning and shelf wear, as with age, but essentially very good in the publisher's green card-stock printed wrappers.

Wraps, octavo, pp. 19. Just light shelf wear. Essentially very good in the publisher's stiff stapled illustrated wraps. With a useful bibliography. North Carolina genealogy. Ensconced in a clear protective display sleeve with white cardstock backing board.

Publisher's dark blue cloth with silver spine lettering over lighter blue boards, small quarto, pp. xxii, 200. Illustrations from black and white photographs by Susan Mullally. Preface by Maya Angelou. Very Good with light shelf wear.

Publisher's stapled illustrated brown wrappers, octavo, pp. 44 + pp. 4 (2 leaves) Standard Oil lubrication and electric lighting unit specification charts. Illustrated with NC travel maps and points of interest vignettes. FAIR to GOOD, with a bit of time and consultation weariness, light page tip creasing, and the occasional nick at a page edge. Protected from further wear now by insertion into a new Ultra-pro sleeve.

Wraps, octavo, pp. 14. This First Edition was limited to 300 copies, of which this is number 163. Illustrated with a small title page vignette. Near fine in stapled illustrated blue self-wrappers.

Edition limited to 1,000 copies, quarto, unpaginated. Mild wear, as with age & handling. Front panel nick at top edge near fore-edge. Horizontal crease throughout 1/4 inch above the bottom edge, thus GOOD only in the publisher's stapled textured wrappers.

Signed by the author on the title page, octavo, pp. 117. Illustrated. GOOD only in the publisher's illustrated blue wrappers with moderate shelf and frequent handling wear.

Just light wear. Very Good in the publisher's stapled gray wrappers. Ensconced in a clear protective display sleeve with white cardstock backing board.

There is some faint old spotting on the cover and spine, and an unfortunate bump to the bottom board tip (Photo 3) that carries over to the first few pages. Light foxing on endpapers and pastedowns. Withal, a GOOD and serviceable copy of an uncommon title in the publisher's black boards with gold spine and upper board lettering. Upper board also with sun, moon, star, and lighthouse illustrations. There is no dust jacket.
