Description:
Publisher's cream-colored buckram-style cloth with elaborate upper board gilt lettering and decorative device within double-ruled gilt border, 12mo, pp. 70. Tissue-guarded frontis of the author and 8 additional illustrations by E. H. Garrett inserted. Note that the List of Illustrations calls for the final illustration to be inserted at page 64 but it is at page 68. Top edge gilt. Leaves printed on rectos only. GOOD condition with shelf soiling on front and rear boards that shows more readily than if publisher had chosen a darker color. This copy with a nice sentimental gift inscription from one sister to another in the year of publication.

Description:
Edition Limited to an unstated number of copies, of which this is number 798, publisher's brown cloth with printed paper label mounted on upper board, octavo, pp. 65 plus Author Index and Title Index. FAIR condition only. Boards are soiled and worn at spine ends and tips. Inner hinges are cracked. A blank front endpaper may have been neatly excised. Most notably, previous owner made extensive notes and arithmetical calculations on the pastedowns and endpapers. Title page and front paper label also have markings. Some are pencil; some are ink. (See our image for an example.) Some notes provide an interesting glimpse into that time period: rent payment calculations, for example. We may be funny about things, but we consider the extraneous notes a bonus rather than a defect.

Description:
Twelve monthly issues bound in publisher's blue boards and cream-colored spine with four raised bands, 16mo, pp. 417, [418], plus colophon. Previous owner tasteful small bookplate on front paste-down. Includes Rosamund Marriott Watson; Oscar Wilde; Walt Whitman; Matthew Arnold; more. Mosher Collectors and Scholars will be familiar with the fragile nature of the blue dust jackets and the chips and tears they are subject to. This jacket is no exception, with random chipping and short tears around the perimeter. The majority of the jacket is toned quite heavily, as well, to a light brown hue. For more see BISHOP, Thomas Bird Mosher Pirate Prince of Publishers (New Castle, 1998), p. 97, entry 27. NOTE that the Bibliography makes a distinction between "authentic" Bibelot volumes like this one that "should not be confused with the New York reprint done by Wm. H. Wise & Co. in 1925 (page 63)."

Twelve monthly issues bound in publisher's blue boards and cream-colored spine with four raised bands, 16mo, pp. 446, [447], plus colophon. Previous owner tasteful small bookplate on front paste-down. Contains Simeon Solomon; Baudelaire translated by Arthur Symons; Elizabeth Rachel Chapman; more. The majority of the jacket is toned to a light brown hue. This volume includes the remnants of a card-stock slipcase with paper spine label affixed. The tattered case provides no support in its current state but could perhaps be taped or glued into some semblance of a structure. For more see BISHOP, Thomas Bird Mosher Pirate Prince of Publishers (New Castle, 1998), p. 100, entry 32. Description:
Publisher's frail blue string-tied wrappers, 16mo, serial pagination 69-95 + [1] + 2 leaves of ads. This number featuring LYRICS AND SONNETS BY ARTHUR UPSON. Tiny blemish beside the "y" in "generally" on the upper wrapper (see photo 2 for our best attempt at a close-up). Old faint creasing near top corner of later pages. Also, written in pencil by a previous owner on the final page, is a column of rhyme scheme: ababbccb. This can be erased easily enough, but we leave it in case any new owner is a fan of contemporary marginalia. Finally, Mosher enthusiasts will be aware that surviving Bibelot single issues are fragile affairs, therefore we have stowed this copy safely now in a clear protective display sleeve with white card stock backing board.
