Some illegible writing between the signature and the date. Red and blue hardcover, 1st edition in dustjacket. A very good copy with minor edge-wear and a bit of bending at the head of the spine column. Binding and hinges are solid, and the text is unmarked other than the author's inscription. Unclipped dustjacket is good but with a crinkly bend to the head of the spine panel that doesn't seem to want to flatten out - still bright and attractive. A thick volume at 610 pp., indexed, many black and white photos. A detailed history of the American Legion and the programs they created to assist United States Military Veterans.

Thea Cooper.' Black hardcover with gilt spine lettering, 1st edition in dustjacket. A good copy with rounding to the corners and spine tips and general wear to the board edges. Previous owner's address sticker to the front free-endpaper. Pages clean and unmarked other than the author's inscription. Binding and hinges are solid. Unclipped dustjacket is also good with wear and ruffling to the panel edges and a narrow cut to the spine panel. 306 pp., indexed, some black and white photos.

Maryland: Naval Institute Press, 2006. Hardcover. Very Good/good +. Signed without inscription by the author on the half-title page. Blue hardcover with silver spine titles in dustjacket. Stated first printing but number line begins with "2." A very good copy, clean, straight and tight, with some darkening of the blue paper around the front joint. Minor shelf-wear to the spine tips. The jacket would also be very good if not for minor scuffing and soil to the panels, and rufflinga along the top edges of the panels. 346 pp., index, notes, and bibliography. Some black and white maps and charts. An in-depth look at some of the major sea battles of WWII.

New York: Times Books / Random House, 1995. Second printing. Hardcover. Good/good. Black and cream hardcover, in jacket, signed by the author on the title page in the year of publication without personalization. A good copy of the second printing with light bumping to the bottom edges and spine tips. Two previous owner's stickers to the endpapers are the only interior markings other than the author's signature. Strong hinges and a solid binding. The dustjacket is also good but with a short tear at the rear joint and general wear to the edges of the panels. 382 pp., indexed.

New York: Northern & Southern Music Publishing Co., 1922. Sheet_music. Fair. Charles Baskerville. Sheet Music - 6 pages counting the covers. A fair only copy - limp and edge worn, with tears at the spine tips. There is a scar from a sticker removal toward the bottom center of the front cover, not impacting the illustration which is bright. Thumbing to the edges from page-turning no doubt. The music itself is unmarked. A rough but intact copy of this 20s title.

Boston: Beacon Press, 1997. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/good. Signed and inscribed by the author on the title page, "10/2/99 To Carolyn Blessings & Joy! Margot Adler." Black quarter-cloth hardcover with silver spine titles. 1st edition in dustjacket. Minor wear to the board edges and spine tips. A clean and solid copy with strong hinges. Unmarked other than the author's inscription. The top edge of the front free-endpaper and half-title have been cut away, most likely to remove an ownership name or stamp. Unclipped jacket is good only with minor soiling, a previous bookstore price sticker to the rear panel, and a 1 inch tear at the top of the rear panel toward the fold. 309 pp., indexed, Adler's autobiography of activism and the realities of Vietnam.

Maryland: Montrose Press, 2002. Paperback. Good +. Trade paperback, centennial edition. A good + copy - would be near fine except for a substantial case of heat warping. Clean, tight and unread, with very minor bumps at the upper corners. 334 pp., indexed, bibliography.

Seattle: Fantagraphics Books, 2009. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/very good. Signed without inscription by author Monte Schulz (son of cartoonist Charles Schulz) on the title page in the month of publication. Black hardcover with silver titles in dustjacket - a first edition. Book is in near fine condition, clean, tight, and square - unmarked other than the author's signature and apparently unread. The dustjacket is very good but with a couple of short chips/tears - at the folds and corners, and minor scuffing to the dark panels. 318 pp., a story of life and con men in the years before the great depression.

Speckling to the top edge of the text block. Unclipped jacket with sun fading to the spine panel, minor soil and ruffling to the panel edges and a narrow crease at the bottom of the front flap. 302 pp., indexed, notes, and some black and white photos. Blurps on the rear panel form Lois Battle and Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. Nicely presented and uniquely signed.

Hinges and binding are solid and the pages are clean and unmarked other than a previous price erasure to the top of the half-title page. Unclipped jacket with $3.95 price intact in a ring caused by a sticker covering it. Jacket is chipped, with longer tears at the head of the spine, and a large square sticker removal scar to the top of the rear panel. 223 pp., indexed, some black and white photos at center.
