Gray stapled paper covers with teal stripe, 8vo, 16 pp. This essay, written in third month, 1772, near the end of John Woolman's life, was not published in 'The Journal and Major Essays of John Woolman' (Oxford, 1971). The essay consists of conversations between a labourer, a rich man, and a thrifty landowner - with economic and class insights that could be applied today. Philadelphia, Kimber & Sharpless and B. & T. Kite, 1828, First Edition. Full leather hc, speckled edges, marbled endpapers, 8vo, xxxvi, 324 pp with index and appendix. Good: covers rubbed with head of spine chipped, spine title block missing, heavily foxed and tanned, pages crisp, no markings. WorldCat claims an 1823 edition, but the writing endeavour was approved 10th month 1827.
