'The Avengers' of Universal MonstersFrankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolfman, with Glenn Strange as the Frankenstein monster, John Carradine as Dracula, and Lon Chaney, Jr., as The Wolfman; and lead us not forget, "Nina" the hunchbacked nurse, as played by Jane Adams, and pictured here in the lobby-card. A fine example of this scene from the movie, no pinholes.

First Edition. 448 pages of color artwork reproducing Stephen King's original paperback and hardback covers of the many editions of his books. 600 reproductions in all. An oversized book measuring 11 x 15. The notes on the artwork by George Beahm, with an introduction by Frank Darabont. Artists include Bernie Wrightson, Michael Whelan, J.K. Potter, Don Maitz, Dave McKean, and others. Still in the original shrinkwrap, there is a 2" circular tear in the shrinkwrap, but the book has never been opened. One corner just bumped, as how I received it. As new unopened copy, in slipcase.

Lovecraft, from the last eighty years. Weird Tales, paperback covers, fanzines, movies, sculptures, private commissions, etc. Artists include, Michael Whelan, H.R. Giger, Lee Brown Coye, Virgil Finlay, Gahan Wilson, John Coulthart, Ian Miller, and dozens of others in an oversized 12 × 15.5 inch book. Also included are many previously unpublished works, & several major essays. Foreword by Stuart Gordon; introduction by Harlan Ellison, afterword by Thomas Ligotti. Heavily bound, issued in a cloth slipcase. A very handsome production. A few light corner bumps, unavoidable with these huge Centipede productions, else, Fine in d.j.

[N.p., but located in Hampshire, UK]: Spectre Press, [1976]. [First Printing]. This early Jim Pitts portfolio features six drawings based upon the fictional works & locales, of H.P. Lovecraft: The Outsider, The Terrible Old Man, Night Gaunts, The Call of Cthulhu, Innsmouth, and the Music of Erich Zann.Heavily influenced by Hannes Bok, and Virgil Finlay, but the artist's stipple is broader than the fine Finlay technique, giving the drawings a more sinister feel, but there's a bit of Hannes Bok "cheekiness" in the poses, suggesting that we're really not to take these horrors too seriously. The Portfolio is Signed by the artist. There is a booklet included with Lovecraft's likenessnicely done, deeply shadowedon the cover, and a Dirk Mosig article on HPL, along with Jim Pitts's biography. Slick paper, heavier stock, in a stiff illustrated manilla folder. A little bump to lower R.H., corner, else fine. Very, very nicely done. I, myself, am a big fan of Pitts's work.
