Published in an edition limited to 230 signed, numbered copies, this copy is additionally signed by the artist Andrew Smith. Lovely find press booklet, printed from handset types upon handmade papers. The penultimate publication by Squires before his Bibliography. A fine copy in d.j.

West Kingston, R.I. : Donald M. Grant, 1982. First Edition. An exotique tale, for a time mistakingly thought written by Clark Ashton Smith, but soon after proven not to've been written by CAS. However it does exist with his name, and it will always remain a curious error of wishful bibliographic thinking. The introduction lays out the errant mythodology. The illustrations by R. J. Krupowicz would've suited Smith's exotique prose beautifully. The book is limited to 1250 copies and signed by the artist. As new in d.j.

Of a total edition of 1010 copies, this being one of the 310 deemed SPECIAL EDITION, which is NUMBERED, SIGNED & SLIPCASED and bound in CLOTH not paper over boards as is the TRADE EDITION. SIGNED by the author, illustrator, and authors Tim Powers and K.W. Jeter who both wrote afterwardsTHE PIGS HAVE ALL GONE TO FRANCE and THE INVISIBLE BOOK which were not included in the trade edition. This was printed before the British papers started going to hell and the paper is white. Additional scans available upon request.

This book was conceived on the brilliant notion that, rather than the artist illustrate the author, the author would "illustrate" the artist, by composing stories around the artist's original conceptions. ETM features the horrifying, exotic, erotic, beautiful ,and to this day, cutting-edge visions of arguably, the best psychological visionary in the field, but you wouldn't get any argument from me. Thirteen tales based upon the artwork which is based upon the theme of "human alteration." Signed by twelve of the thirteen authors, (Shepherd did not sign), the artist; publisher, and designer. One of 250 copies. This was an artist copy, out of sequence. Additionally, included is the chapbook by Potter and Caitlin R. Kiernan, limited to 250 copies, signed by both, which was issued with the limited edition. The Caitlin story was not included in the hardcover, but issued in this booklet, separately.

The first Cheap Street publication, however; this being the Deluxe, production limited to only sixty-two copies as Jan & George O'Nale explained on their colophon page"This upgraded version of "Ervool" was issued in June, 1982 for the subscribers to Cheap Street. It consists of the original sheets from the earlier "Ervool" printing. . . and a companion book, "Riches and Power,", of the same papers. Both were . . . slipped into handmade cases. There were a total of sixty-two copies with matching numbers issued in this format. Considered by many the author's best book. The first limited printed of 1500 copies, featuring the inspired artwork of Stephen Fabian. SIGNED by the author on the title-page. A fine copy in d.j.

London,: The Ulysses Press Ltd.,, 1931 . First Edition.. Poetry by the noted novelist and short story writer. This early work consists of "Apology," a lengthy introduction to the poems: "Address to the Worms," Three Men in One Room," "Excuse in Autumn,"Oh Soul be Changed Into Little Water Drops," "Brookside Reverie," "Of Consolations Through Murder." The total edition printed was 185 copies, this is one of 15 copies, each containing an original manuscript leaf, laid-in. The manuscript leaf is taken from the poem,"Three Men in One Room." The book is signed by both the author, and artist Helen Kapp. It is also vellum-spine, bound, and the original onion skin d.j., is present, even though it was meant to be discarded upon purchase. Some wear to top-edge boards, else a very good copy. Rare.

Sauk City: Arkham House, 1948. [First edition]. A twice-signed, presentation copy, the year of the book's publication, inscribed, and corrected, with nine corrections in the author's hand. The inscription to his friend Don Carter, reads, "For Don, the night after moving into the new home, sans Katzenjammer, Dec. 4th, 1948. Madam Mad No Whiskey, Dog Gone Madam Mad. Dry Shift." By explanation, CAS had met and been romancing Carolyn Jones Dorman, and moved into her home in Pacific Grove, California. Carolyn had three children from a previous marriage. CAS enjoyed the pleasures of alcohol, sometimes overdoing it, but Carolyn here, was wasn't allowing it. There are nine-handwritten corrections to this copy, in addition to the author's full-signature on the half-title page. Signed copies of this title are scarce, but corrected copies are rare. Some dullness to the cloth, moderately soiled, d.j., with signs of aging, and some darkening to the spine-panel of d.j. Still a very good copy in very good d.j.

West Warwick, R.I. : Necronomicon Press, 1996. First Printing. The second biography of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, this Herculean undertaking by S.T. Joshi exhumes incredible minutae of HPL's life and times, and may be dense reading for many; you could term L. Sprague de Campt's biography as a general introduction to the man, whereas Joshi gets inside HPL's skin with a surgeon's skills.This hardbound edition of 250 signed copies was sold out before publication. With the addition of new HPL discoveries, this biography was expanded by Joshi and published in a two-volume set by Hippocampus Press,but this single volume contains all the meat & potatoes, and is the one I find myself referencing most easily. As new in d.j., signed by the biographer.

Prairie City, Illinois: The Decker Press, 1950. [First Edition]. The author's first book includes Crazy Horse, Custer, Cochise, and Billy The Kid, as subjects of his poetry. Brennan was a poet before fictioneer, and remained a poet up until his death. Presentation copy, inscribed and signed from the author, and also signed by the author's wife Doris Phildrick, who was also a poet, "To our friend R. Dixon Smith. December 6, 1986."
