NY: Antiquarian Press, 1959. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. First printing of this facsimile reprint, very good in blue cloth boards with no dust jacket. Limited to 750 copies, although this copy is unnumbered. Front board and spine have faint dampstains, just slightly changing the blue color. No names or other marking in the book. Starting in 1855 and going through the Indian Wars, this is a detailed narrative of the personnel and activities of the Fifth Cavalry, including appendices listing all soldiers through each of the dampaigns; 705 pages.

Very good+ with no dust jacket. Black cloth with title label on front board and spine. The spine label is slightly darkened, and the cloth on the spine is a touch sunned. Slight wear at spine ends and top front corner, but a tight, square copy. Owner's neat bookplate on front pastedown, but no names or other markings in the book. Includes six illustrations (including a frontispiece photograph of Forrest), six maps, bibliographical note, and an index; 402 pages.

NY: Lincoln Mac Veagh/The Dial Press, 1930. First Edition . Hardcover. Very good with no dust jacket. The gray cloth has a few light vertical cracks and a couple of tiny holes at the spine. Gilt lettering on spine is a bit dulled, but still legible. Hinges are tight; slight foxing on title page, but nowhere else in the book. No names or other marking in the book. Includes five plates from engravings and six sketch maps, (including 2 foldout maps at rear), list of authorities, and an index; 320 pages.

The spine lettering is faint, but still legible. Hinges are both cracked, but book is still pretty tight. Color frontispiece (with tissue guard) and three other color illustrations by N. C. Wyeth. A novel about the civil war era, with map endpapers showing Southern areas of conflict.
