Inscribed and initialled by Berenson on the ffep. A bibliography of Berenson's writings divided into two parts: books written between 1894 and 1955 and the second part almost all the articles he has written in American, Italian, French and English magazines.

Blackwood's Edinburgh MAgazine was a monthly literary periodical which provided a literary platform for emerging Victorian authors such as Joseph Conrad and George Eliot. In this American edition, historical and literary articles including: Civil War related material-"A Visit to the Cities and Camps of the Confederate States, 1863-64"; Descriptions of Capri Island, the Nile Basin; Demonology; biographical sketches on William Gladstone, Earl Russell, William Blake; rate of Interest and monetary crises;  "Thirty Years Policy in New Zealand" etc.

Illustrated throughout. 4to, wraps, slightly soiled at foot of front wrap, name to title page else very good. Still the definitive reference on early Canadian furniture.
