Description:
Rowman and Littlefield, Totowa, first separate edition, 1971. Cloth, small 8vo, 20 cm,. [x], 302 pp. Approximately 1,500 entries. A separate volume containing the bibliographical entries relating to bibliographies on Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture and related subjects extracted from the 5 volumes of Besterman's monumental "A world bibliography of bibliographies and of bibliographical catalogues, calendars, abstracts, digests, indexes, and the like" (4th and best edition). The coverage is geographically very wide-ranging, and includes both separately published books and monographs and serial publications (though not bibliographies appearing in periodicals). Classified arrangement (an author index would have been valuable). Besterman's indication of the approximate number of entries contained in each work is particularly useful. Top edge of textblock mildly smokestained, otherwise Very Good.

Crosby Lockwood & Son, Ltd., London, first edition, 1950. Cloth, 8vo,. vii, 186 pp, ills. Approximately 350 entries. From the preface: "The eighteenth century was remarkable for the advance that was made in farmìng practicc, and a definite period of that advance lies between the publication of Tull's work and the formation of the Board of Agriculture in 1793 : so the limits to which I have confined myself in this book are justified by external circuinstances.Parallel with the advance in practice was a large increase in the number of books on farming and kindred subjects that was published. ...I have tried to leave out purely botanical works.. my intention has been to catalogue only books on vegetable, fruit, and flower production, however unwarily I may have been seduced by the charms of some that are outside my limits.
