Barbara Bradford (1933 – )

Barbara Taylor Bradford (born May 5, 1933) is an English novelist.

Barbara Taylor Bradford was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, and by the age of twenty was an editor and columnist on Fleet Street.

In 1979, her first novel, A Sudden Change of Heart, marks the author's return to Doubleday as well as the 20th anniversary of A Woman of Substance. Her novels have sold more than sixty-one million copies worldwide.

Barbara Taylor Bradford serves on the Board of PAL, the Police Athletic League, a charity for underprivileged children, and is on the Council of the Authors Guild of America. She became an American citizen in 1992. She lives in New York City with her husband, producer Robert Bradford.
